And what he has given to the game is probably plenty however my time of punting he has put punters in the bush with those dreadful timed runs. I sometimes feel i get a fair chance if Grant or Greg is riding vs the old man.

I see we now have a second jockey fan club !!!
The "two Durban Craigs" head the AM Fan Club and @cnc heads the KN Fan Club...
And statues of any kind are a no-no in SA...many being defaced and / or taken down so cannot see one (of King Karl) being erected anytime in my lifetime...

All I am saying is Karl cost punters dearly more often than not and even if it's ironic regardless my opinion of him is mentioned above.
sure we all have our favourite riders (I like Cheyne, Fourie, Lerena, Cormack and Karl) but how many things can go wrong in a race. Look at Karls ride on Gin of Genuis yesterday. He finished running on but when he made his move 2 out he had to switch because the horse in front of move moved to the right. It cost him the race. Jockeys are riding living beings, not a motor car. Horses can also wake up on the wrong side of the bed and not want to perform. If you take his career record into consideration then its nothing short of phenomenal. Just my opinion off course

yeah but it would only be the disgruntled punter who has lost money on him, and that would be a handful, thus easy to control. I see that the Statue of Liberty has gone into hiding. I would love to post that pic on here but I don't know how to.

you have just said it. for an old man. Not bad when he can still ride jockeys half his age to sleep. By acknowledging the fact that he is old shows me that you too realise just how good he is

10 years 1 month agoyour opinion is appreciated budd. How many excuses can u have for one jock when sitting on a favorite? This man don't win on favorites. When I think of the term one jockey riding another to sleep. I will rather tell u look at some of the rides bling has won on and see the motion of the jockey . Or look at striker when he rode Sirens call or Sea fan this weekend. Those rides are jocks really trying to win. . Or along the lines riding to sleep. That for me is riding. Not sitting motionless on a horse that won. Per say.

just like your man don't win on all the favourites that he rides. Horses, as you well know, are priced up because who is on them. CTN is a tough place to ride as I posted on an earlier thread.

Jockeys who sit on horses and do nothing and the horse still wins are the best as they have kept the horse fresh during the race. Jockeys who work hard on a horse to win are just as good as they got everything out of the horse in order to win. Jockeys who look as if they are trying and working are not worth talking about. I have the greatest respect for every single jockey on the face of the earth as I have ridden retired race horses and they can shift. I have fallen off and have the broken bones and scars to prove it. I am not a small bloke so when I fell, I fell hard.

I prefer a few jocks and not just Anton. When it's time to put my cash down and if Anton is up let's just say I am more confident. Thus far only been let down once which was on St. Tropez. By this I mean a bigger than usual punt. Sure Anton will lose on horses too. Few weeks ago I took him on with Wild Namaqua. He just beat the horse . Jockeys will win and they will loose. Difference is he tries to the line and I rarely see strange rides from him in comparison to the "King". Now forget this kak and let's focus on some racing. I prefer UK over Bingo park today.
