Read this article. Not surprised though, that Racing cannot improve their image.

Agreed Bob,this could very well have been a family member or an agent that had put up a big fuss.

Did the Jockey Academy, who these guys fall under, send out a press release? Did they send that release to the newspapers and to It's A rush? Did they, who are basically there to promote the young appies and this competition, do their job? I don't know the answer so just asking. I don't know if they have a new site but if not rather look at the Academy first as their last NEWS is from END OF 2013!!! They don't even make mention of this contest in their event planner BUT do mention the Jockey's International!!

I think blame here is directed at the wrong entity as it is obvious that a quick glance at the SAJA site shows where this problem begins - I remember a few years ago that site had head shots of appies now nothing
LINK TO SAJA

A look at their FACEBOOK PAGE shows their last entry 14 HOURS ago relating to a race ONE MONTH AGO!
Racing was on the Sand Track at the Vaal Racecourse on Tuesday 14 October, and in Race 2 No. 7 "CAPTAIN HADDOCK" trained by Ormond Ferraris was accompanied into the winners enclosure by Apprentice Collen Storey. CONGRATULATIONS on your winner Collen!

So you again have a simple thing like Facebook that is trying to compete with the Post Office with slow delivery - SAJA is to blame as they themselves have not done the work they are tasked with. How on your own Facebook Page and Website do you not make mention of this event and its outcome. How can you be a month behind with posts in an industry where the maxim - "you are only as good as your last win " is the order of the day?

Blame here is directed incorrectly.
