SA racing loses another Legend

My daughter, just informed me of the sad news ( on face book apparently )

Very sad indeed, a true gentleman & an absolute passion for horse racing - or the horse in particular. Indeed a fountain of knowledge with regards breeding, & he could always spot a lurker in the ring prior to the race.

He was not everybody's cup of tea - but I thought he was just great & would always take note of his pre race reviews. He & his son will always be remembered for their short 30 min. documentaries on various aspects of racing.

R.I.P. Jimmy & condolences to family & friends.

Jimmy will be sadly missed. A true gentleman in every way. I will never forget the kindness he always showed to my mom and dad. To Elaine and the family, my sincere condolences. Racing has lost a very special man.
