Looking good for the bookies in the Phum battle
10 years 8 months ago - 10 years 8 months ago
Hearing the gambling board are enforcing licensing rules and have told Phumelela to restore Telytrack to Gauteng bookies
Also hearing the other boards are present and will most likely follow suit
Details to follow I'm sure
Wouldn't say its a victory for the bookies
But it's definately a setback for Phum

From the sporting post
In breaking news just reaching our offices, it has been reported that the Gauteng Gambling Board have ordered that the status quo regarding Bookmakers costs of receiving Tellytrack feed be restored to the position as it existed in September 2013.
This decision amounts to the first glimmer of hope for the turf accountants who were dealt a blow with the imposition of costly new tariffs by Tellytrack lare last year.
Bookmakers have been fighting to ensure that they could continue to receive the Tellytrack broadcasts and objected to an increase in costs for receiving the broadcasts, deemed to be unreasonable and without due authority.
Watch this space for further news.

Hearing now that Phumelela just had all three of their applications for amendments to their licence conditions dismissed by the Gauteng Gambling Board.

Sure the bookies that have paid the extra will now be due a refund?
Status quo to be resumed with immediate effect

It's amazing how quick this site is to celebrate anything against the operators , even if it's bad for Racing.
And that goes for S.Post too.
So all the Bull about promoting and loving racing on here is just a waste of time for me.
The Gambling Board are squeaky clean, pillars of Society and are the new "flavour of the month" on ABC

The only thing amazing Louis, is the fact that you do not see that the operator is bad for racing. As a man who earns his living from this game surely even with a one-eyed view that you seem to have on occasion, you cannot defend the indefencible? Just so we never forget:
Gosforth park
Bloemfontein
Newmarket
Arlington
One of the conditions applied to be changed was the staging of local race meetings. What part of this do you not get?
