Cape Marigold won`t have much to beat if she likes the sand, her Turf Maiden run looks decent, actually quite surprised they have went to the sand with her so quick, i know her sire throws sand winners so maybe the sand is where her future lies?

On the road all tomorrow so quick post now...

Another competitive card where in most it would seem there are 3 or 4 in with a shout and the rest are no hopers. It would be unusual if it turned out that way. My preferences...

R1 African Goshawk
R2 Rushing Josh
R4 Die Kat
R5 Hang Fire
R6 Augustinus
R7 Mind Games

If I HAD to choose one of the above as a banker it would be Augustinus despite it looking like a very competitive race with some, of late, very decent performers on the surface.

R3 The top 4 in the market could complete the quartet but none of them convince me. Possible but by no means a certainty, imo, that on breeding Greek Legend will be a good sand performer. Solely on breeding, Latinus is possibly the likelier to take to the surface but he comes off a 26 week break. Gornergrat was a 7l 4th over 1200 on sand debut when returning from a 17 week in only his second career run lto, the 5th, 2,25l further back, was beaten 13.5l nto (over 1450). Rushing Josh might give the form something of a boost in the second and Gornergrat could improve for the step up in d but again no guarantee. SP of 75/1 on both races to date, I would not be rushing to back him at around Evens here! Won't Wait may have run 2nd lto from a wide draw but he has another wide draw here and he really doesn't appear to have faced the strongest maiden fields ever assembled of late, his chance is that it is a similar looking field and, unlike two of the aforementioned, he does have track experience. All of this comes round to, of course, lol, it may be worth looking for a complete nutter in this race, at least for a place but given the questions, a small win might also prove worthwhile, shouldn't hurt anyway! For me, there are three main candidates. Most likely on form is sand debutant It's Mister To You. His turf form at 1600 and 1800 has seen his best, if still somewhat moderate, performances. Unfortunately though, the breeding signals are not good and his full brother Mister Cat Club's few attempts on sand do not make pretty reading. Border Patrol was less than 2l behind Won't Wait in a WR event over 1450 here in his penultimate start. His form definitely has nothing that makes strong appeal but he is probably marginally better over further than 1450 and he does have two thirds in 8 c runs, one of which came in his 3 attempts over c/d. Won't Wait is 9/2, whereas for BP, 50s plus is possibly available. The last of the three is Nuclear Treaty. The form is pretty hopeless and he was thrashed by 34l on c debut lto. But, that was over 1000, he lost a couple of lengths at the start and was returning from 66 weeks off. He did run a 3rd though over this trip on the turf which demonstrated there could be a little ability hidden away, he is drawn 2 and the breeding does suggest a fair chance he will go on the sand. They are of course very weak reasons but should those at the head of the market all fail to answer the questions then the race could be wide open and no reason why on this surface and over this distance that they might all not run as badly as the form for the nutters. Yes, unlikely, but for me worth a nibble. This is more about the market leaders failing than one of the others suddenly improving in huge leaps and bounds. If one of the others at a huge price is the right one, fair play but I won't be happy I missed it lol

R8 Far too many words in that so just briefly, I give Ice Goddess a chance here but my preference at big odds is Zena's Own. Stable seems to be regaining some life and though her last two runs were possibly poor they were when the stable wasn't firing and both were over 1450. She drops back to 1200 here (2-2-4 in 17 c/d runs, 0-1-0 in 12 other career runs). Her form is nothing to shout about but it does look a relatively weak field and, from poll, she is worth a small e/w idiot nibble imo.

Be(s)t of luck to all

Believe me mate, when I started it was meant to be quick! lol Should have just said..., for me the four market leaders all have questions to answer, three nutters worth a small consideration are... " but once I start I just think people should get the full picture so to speak so I end up waffling on n on n on ;)
