Below is part of the preview from hollywood and a link to the full article
The Ryder Cup tees off next week and with the PGA tour taking a break after the excitement of the FedEx Cup, now seems the perfect time to have a quick look at what to expect. For the second time in forty instalments of what has become golf’s most anticipated tournament, the Ryder Cup will be hosted in Scotland, this time at the Gleneagles Hotel. While I will discuss the course in more detail next week, it is worth noting that it has undergone extensive redevelopment in the build-up to the tournament and will offer more than a few surprises for the players and fans alike. Measuring in at 7,626 yards, this par 72 links style course will pose a real challenge to all 24 players participating and I doubt anyone will feel at home here over what promises to be a gruelling four days.
In 2012, the European team stunned the US at Medinah when they staged what must have been one of the greatest comebacks in sporting history. Having defeated the US in 2010, Team Europe arrived in Illinois confident that they would be able to retain the title won by a narrow margin two years previous. That confidence must have been severely dented by the end of Day 1 as a stunning display by the Americans saw them take an early lead, a lead which they never really looked like giving up. As the tournament entered its final day, Team USA seemed to be in control, leading by ten points to six and only needing four and a half points to secure victory. Fate was not on their side though as nothing went their way and the Europeans managed to pull off what the media subsequently dubbed the “Miracle at Medinah”. Whilst this is an incredible story and one which will be told for years to come, the real lesson here was learnt by punters the world over who would have realised that there may be a lot of value to be found in backing the outsider on the final day of the Ryder Cup. Just hope the weather stays as it is at the moment as rain will surely spoil the event.

brings back nightmares....lost 500 000 on TEAM USA..that year...and was watching the agony with TITCH,...early on on sunday...i wanted to back europe to at least get the stake out....TITCH and my brother said that was donating money to the bookie..at around midnight ,the fate was known....i remember watching and and we saying to each other..thats ok,after europe were winning hole after hole....because i think we just need to 1/2 the last 2 holes to win it...but as fate would have it these europeans were sinking monster after monster putts...couldnt sleep...not so much for the fact that it was that sum of money lost..but more for the fact, that that there was no way in our minds ,that usa could get beat on that final day....so i was thinking when bob said the other day..how do u explain to a newbie that a 55/1 shot wins..how do u explain to me a seasoned punter that usa lost that.....it was the same feeling,,lost for words

Unsettled weather forecast with winds 15 to 30 mph and will play a role. No fog as the wind will blow. 14-18 high so the weather will be mild and it will definitely rain on and off

Would back the Obama men to win but the price is no value.
Westwood,Poulter not playing well at all.
Bjorn gone off the boil.
Hope Europe win but would not be surprised

Jordan Speith at 21/20 to be the top American Rookie looks a very good bet. He will more than likely play a few more matches than Walker and Reed and with a bit of luck should easily finish ahead of them.
