Training Agenda

Morning Clan,

Who can explain in laymans terms how a horse gets trained ?

First it runs around and around ?
Then to starting stalls to practice loading ?
Then to practice jumping well out of the gates ?

I haven't a clue.
What sort of time frame are we looking at for each disipline ?

Without bugging Lucky, I'm trying to see where Clan Classique is in her training program.

Maybe some running times, changes in her weight, any small medical problems, etc.

Hey guys, it's like a baby.
First steps, first words, potty training, hair growth, first joint etc., etc.

This is our baby and I'm a concerned father.

Enjoy.

Wally, like you I too, am not too up on all the in's and outs.

However, as far as 'our baby' is concerned, a little dickie-bird tells me, there is a BIG possibilty that she'll be out around the end of May.

Ouzo, Jim.

Good morning Wally

So many variables in bringing up/ racing a horse.

Might need some help with add and delete, but first is important,

You can either have a champ or a piece of shit or anything in between, the majority fall in the second two categories.

A horse does not know its price, you can get good cheap ones and slow expensive ones.

Like all babies some are big, some are small, some learn quicker and some are slow, some are bred for more ground and some are sprinters, some run at 2 some at 3 and even some at 4 and 5 and some NEVER make the track.

I would need a trainer to tell me when a horse is ready?, but it is a mixture of what you have asked, but when it is ready? It might need the run, need more ground, need gelded, has a poor race, cant find a suitable race, gets ill, etc, etc, etc.

During the race, can be slow away, can get bumped, have a poor ride etc, etc, etc.

Hope this can start an interesting thread, but will ask cuckoo to bring this to Luckys attention at the track today and will post and update on the CLAN horse.

In addition, will send you an update on our other baby.

Welcome to the world of horse racing, but don't forget, when you lead in a winner its the best feeling in the planet, that's why we can handle the above.

Does it run round and round clockwise or anti-clock wise.

Lucky has a HUGE hamster cage, so it makes no difference.

Thanks Scotia.

I'm an old ex Project Manager.

I remember that certain things need to be done by a certain time, before the next task can begin. If the completion of a particular task was late, it held up completion of the whole project and all hell broke loose.

So, a sort of time frame is probably what I'm looking for and a progress report on our "Project".

I will be seeing City Belle next week and will also pass on info.

Many thanks.

Cheers Wally a horse is flesh and blood, and does not understand critical paths, deadlines and milestones.
