Feel for Ziets, we also have paid our transporter and horses had to come back.
As for PIRATES post.... well, my son shares his opinion.... never renewed his colours. ... The ones Play Play won 2 in a row in.... This is a pity !

And yes, Bignic, I too miss PM .... This meeting would have taken place in his time.... based upon the info that I have....

However, based solely on the videos of this post, a few facts worth considering -
1) Walking on a course by a human is completely different to a horse galloping on it. I would consider myself stupid, if I compared the two.
2)A racehorse puts down some 2600 psi per foot when in full gallop with a rider on top, hence my statement in 1) above.
3)The course as shown in the video is clearly very wet. In order to dry it, a tractor needs to pull machinery over it, to either roll it or even open it. Either way, that same tractor will create ridges....
4)When I called a Kimberley trainer this am, at about 10h30, it was raining...
5)The racehorse is our "prisoner" as such. He or she has no say in the matter. He/she is locked in a stable by us, exercised by us, as we decree. He/she will race for us when we ask.....

So, if the going is dangerous, or in question..... Lets think of the innocent one, the racehorse. That's the very least that we can do.
Just think of the horse !

pirates wrote: once again I reiterate the most important person in racing is the person who is in charge of the training tracks and who is in charge of the race tracks because without these we cant train horses and we cannot have racemeetings... unfortunately the operators see things differently and they get away with it ...its hard to believe this is a multi billion rand industry..am I happy I never renewed my colours this racing season :) :)

I had my colours 2002 did not renew them as well.

Have to agree-I take it that 6 idiots and 3 "midgets"jumping up and down on the turf when considering a jockey objection to the going , is in fact , just a stupid waste of time???
Is it just to entertain the Tellytrack viewers ......lol .

May as well use a Ouija board and Crystal ball instead - Clearly defined rules are needed - ie if the pen reading is " x" (an agreed upon reading by the NHRA, Trainers and Jockeys and Owner Associations - leave out the operators as profit should have no bearing on safety) at 8am then abandon.

Bad day for Ziets all round, finally gets home, goes to shops and runs out of diesel , then gets a call saying he's not been added to the nhra list of employees
