Scotia (Dave Scott) after July and new site

Good morning all and hope you are keeping warm in sunny SA?

Well the July was a blast and plenty drama with the result being changed, I gather I was in the minority as I felt the stipes made the correct call and well done to the connections.
It was also great to meet the connections of Beach Beauty and look forward to her next and possibly last challenge ?

I was picked up at the airport by one of the Clanners and would recommend east coast cabs when you are in KZN.

On the Thursday night we attended the Hollywood party and it was full house and a blast, great July prices were on offer and I am sure the Hollywood guys that were trying to balance a book were breaking sweat with the boss Owen getting rather generous, but a great fun night and vibe.
ABC also gave a cap to be auctioned and it fetched R5000 for the horse care unit.

Friday lunch: and it was a Molly catch up with Neil Morrice joining us with great discussions about old UK races and some of our heros from the past

In the evening we were at the Oyster Box for a press conference with the overseas visitors and they could not be more positive about SA racing and their experience.

Saturday was the big day and I could have done with a few more winners but did not have much confidence with the card so not that serious damage caused.
Some over the top fashion and Zumas entrance was totally OTT.
Met a few interesting characters including Jack Ramsay at his 75th July!
A thank you to Gill and her team for all the planning and effort to ensure we had a wonderful day.

Superb view and great wine

Sunday was a " non racing" day for Mrs S as it was her birthday weekend and concessions had to be made and we had a superb day in Umhlanga.

During all the fun and festivities we were upgrading the site, changing servers etc, etc and the what's up/ SMS was very active at silly hours to get us back up and running and phase one has been completed.
Hope you like the new format and remember to register or re register as we had a few emails bouncing with your new passwords.

It will still take a bit time to put everything in place but thanks for your support in the past and hopefully for the future.

Rome was not built in a day and we will progress in a structured manner and from time to time have a few challenges or cock ups that we will have to address and fix

At times I am nuts but glad I am not Brazilian after last nights game!

ATTENTION: GILL OLMESDAHL

The Coastal Horse Care Unit

PER E-MAIL (horsewelfare@telkomsa.net)

Dear Mrs Olmesdahl

DONATION TO HORSE CARE UNIT

HollywoodBets.Net hosted its annual Vodacom Durban July Preview Party on Thursday 3 July at its Hollywood Park branch.

This is Hollywood’s flagship event and we have a panel of experts giving their views on every horse entered in the July, which hopefully assists our loyal customers with their selections for the race. All this is followed by a great party for the entire Hollywood family, celebrating Africa’s greatest race.

This year Dave Scott from African Betting Clan kindly donated a certified signed cap, from world champion jockey Joao Moreira, following his amazing achievement in Singapore on 6 September 201 when he won eight races in a day. This cap was auctioned and went to the highest bidder, Gary Padmore, who generously bid R5 000 for the cap. We in turn would like to donate these funds to the Coastal Horse Care Unit.

Please accept this donation of R5000 for Coastal Horse Care Unit.

We hope that this donation with assist with the incredible work your team does for the rehabilitation of horses. The work done by CHCU is remarkable, we salute you!

Kind regards,

Kirstie Rutherford
