BETTING EXCHANGES - MAKING MONEY AS A LAYER

We live in hope.............positive is that the investigation commissioned by the dept of trade and industry recommended licencing of exchanges!
As I said above,I am told that it is being discussed ,but unless there is a better understanding than when I chatted with Ken Rutherford,I am not optimistic on that front.
Exchanges,packaged as a fixed price tote, makes too much sense not be inevitable IMO.............the amazing thing is that those that would benefit most, don't seem to understand it!

spot on....i bet you not 1 bookmaker in SA does NOT have an account with Betfair.......
they all do......there is always a cousin or brother or sister out there

i also have NO doubt that majority of the "pool" is seeded from these guys....very little will come from the UK lads and Betfair....

that shows you how much they really have to play with...peanuts.

compared to a UK race a SA race is embarrassing, Bob and I and Flowerydave can't even "get on" a 5/2 shot 2 hours before the race, there simply is NO market and CERTAINLY no market at BETTER odds.

Clever money is so BLATANT on Betfair one will vomit if one really focuses on it.....i don't have the time but all YOU have to do is watch the win market and the place market and sometimes the crookery is astounding......

Bookmaker fixed price a place 1.4 (no limit for credit accounts)
Interbet fixed price a place 1.46 (r5000 )
Betfair 1.7 £2000
Total Betfair market value £1400


this happens everyday, "they" know that the overseas market won't fall for the 1.4 a place as the book is too over round, BUT they can afford to go 1.7 because £2000 x R18 is almost the stake of winning the race......

I think I need to consider emigrating, cos clearly you need to live outside the country to have a good understanding of what goes on with SA horseracing!!! :

Dave, when Betfair was still operational for Saffers ,I played golf with some of the Betfair guys and I was amazed to hear that a very small % of their members were actually Layers.................at the time ,they estimated about 95% punted only!
If exchange type betting becomes available,there would be a big demand for "lessons"in trading!

Wow ,that is a scam..............the basics + some rules & pointers would take no more than an hour or two..............from then on it's common sense ,....and you can't teach that.......lol
