phumellela unfair !!!

I bankered Taso the sailor in my pick 6 . The horse got scratched at the start .

I was not even given 5minutes to adjust or cancel my bets . FFFS its the 1st leg of the pick 6 and the SECOND fav gets scratched , give the punters a fair chance to adjust their bets . Is that toooo much to ask !! Sickening !!

Yes, I also lost on my double from the 2nd. However, spare a thought for the horses already in the stalls.... who have done nothing wrong.

I understand the frustration but the horse MUST come first - Many horses stress at the load so I think it's unfair to unload the field to accommodate punters(I must be the biggest fighter of punters rights but sometimes gambling is just gambling and you have to take the bad with the good) I actually think sometimes the starter gives unruly horses too much time and the loaded horses suffer as a result

Fractious and badly schooled horses should be suspended more often for re-schooling ...................starts will start to improve!

I remember once on the old Newmarket Course or was it greyville..I remember it being a night meeting, They scratched a 5/10 or some short price favourite at the jump of a Pick 6 that the punters on course went mental and nearly attacked poor old Molley who was the on course presenter.

If it was Molley then more likely Newmarket

Correct Rob. Just consider our very old stalls though. They are hitting metal on metal and the severity of the noise frightens some horses, as it is right at their heads. I am working on this, with the full support of Patrick Davis, who really wants to make racing better. Our stalls are still great mechanically, but the wear and tear of 25 plus years needs specific adjustments. These are being done and fewer horses will be reluctant after a start or two.

If there is a late, late scratching, then rather than the scratched horse going onto the tote favourite, the late scratched horse should also qualify for the exotics...just my opinion...

I agree 100%. If a horse is scratched at the start it should qualify.
IT'S NOT THE FAULT OF THE PUNTER AS MOST PUNTERS DON'T KNOW THE
WELL BEING OF THE HORSES WE PUNT OR HOW WELL SCHOOLED THEY ARE AT ENTERING THE STARTING STALLS.

What I find is so ridiculous is you put an outsider as you want to beat the fav, then they scratch your horse and give you the fav :S
