Tote Place bets with Bookies

hi all i played a bet yday ATC "TOTE PLACE" for 250 at a bookmaker that offers the tote place instead of playing it on the tote

the horses were as follow:

excelro (3rd)
tara dawn(3rd)
muwaary (2nd)
tiggy wiigy(2nd)
intergral(1st)
teh fugue(1st)
spanish pipedream (4th)

the problem here is spanish pipdream was number 21 and hence the tote payout is on number 20, however the bookie says if i played the bet on the tote i would have won and not with him.i dont think its fair as i played tote places and not fixed places.


anyone knows more or am i wrong??

If you played tote places, surely you are a winner?

If he offered tote places then you should be paid out. The open bet goes according to tote payouts as far as I am aware.

No tote payout possible on 21 therefore you should be paid out on 20(tu)

Normally bookies put the name of the horse in an atc. If urs had the name surely its a winner.

If its race and no1 and its no 20 then its still a winner cos they wudnt let u mark 21.

There was only 3 places Spanish pipedreams race on the TOTE in the UK

Non handicaps dont play a 4th in the uk

did you take the bet with Hollywood? they use the uk TOTE ? and only 3 places on the UK tote yesterday

Hi Hibs, played at TopBet, they called the office and they said loosing ticket, I tossed it but cover up today with Nightingale TP , baita alga TW and cannock chase TW, still disappointed thou. Thx for feed back guys, will follow up with Mel at Monte branch about this issue.

I would say that you should be paid out ...Bookie should not have given you place bet on Spanish Pipedream then if they say 21 does not form part of Number 20 where the tote payout comes from....???I agree with everyone else saying it definitely seems like you should have been paid out.

If they punched in the name of the horse then you are a winner. The tote uses the number 20 to represent all the horses numbered greater and equal to 20. You must challenge the bookie.

Topbet is worst place to punt, after Mike passed on the service levels have dropped.

If your bookie told you that if you took the bet on the tote you would of won then he has to pay you out
It was A FIXED TOTE PLACES ATC . SO AS LONG AS THE TOTE PAID A PLACE FOR IT U COLLECT .
