"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon' Monday 31st March Workings..

Afternoon.

This afternoon completed, and went as follows......

The 1st runner we wanted 1.7, and with being around 2.1 on arrival and just getting bigger, we never see our lay price at any stage at all, so all had to avoid the race. The runner disappointed badly and was easily beaten, so not sure what went wrong there, but 'one that got away in hindsight'...........

The 2nd runner we wanted 2.2, but a non runner and 7.4% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.11 (2.1 nearest exchange price). The price was around 2.16 on arrival and then dropped down to us, so we had a lay at 2.1. The lay went and made all, so a good effort and the way it goes. Traders did get their trade back prices in running, so got away with it......

The 3rd runner we wanted 1.2, and with being around 1.54 on arrival and not coming down anywhere near our lay price at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner went and won easily enough, so a fair priced winner, but more importantly a good leave........

The 4th runner we wanted 3.0, and with drifting to slightly higher and 3.05 on arrival, and then dropping down to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 3.0 max. The price then went for a walk the other way, and out to our own price of 3.3 and beyond, so a chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade was beaten, so a good result........

The 5th runner we wanted 1.66, and with drifting to around 2.0 on arrival and not coming anywhere near our lay price at any stage after mails were sent, we all had to avoid the race. The runner went and won well, so a nice priced winner, but more importantly a good leave.......

The 6th runner we wanted 1.7, and with being around 2.04 on arrival and not coming down anywhere near our lay price at any stage at all, it was another race to avoid for all. The runner went and won, so another good leave............

The 7th runner we wanted 3.0, and with being around 3.3 on arrival and then dropping down to us and beyond, we had a lay at 3.0 max. The lay was beaten, so a good result.......

The 8th runner we wanted 2.8, and with being around 3.15 on arrival and only getting slightly bigger, we never see our lay price at any stage at all, so a race to avoid for all. The runner was beaten after a battle, so a case of 'one that got away in hindsight'........

The 9th runner we wanted 2.4, but a non runner and 17.6% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.15 (2.16 nearest exchange price). The price was around 1.92 on arrival and getting shorter, so we had a lay at around 1.92 max. The lay was beaten after a battle, so a good result.......

The 10th runner we wanted 1.7, and with being around 1.91 on arrival and only getting slightly bigger, we never see our lay price at any stage at all, so a race to avoid for all. The runner was beaten (Jockey won race on winner I think), so a case of 'one that got away in hindsight'.......

The 11th runner we wanted 2.7, and with being that on arrival, we had a lay at 2.7. The lay crashed out of the race, so hope he's OK, but a good result financially.............

The 12th runner we wanted 2.7, and with being a well supported 2.34 on arrival and getting slightly shorter, we had a lay at 2.34 max. The lay went and won, so Gamble landed and the way it goes........

The 13th and final runner we wanted 2.7, and with being around 3.55 on arrival, and just getting bigger, we never see our lay price at any stage at all, so a race to avoid for all. The runner was beaten, so the drift justified and 'one that got away in hindsight'........

WELL PLAYED/BATTLED...................(2 from the first 3 (66.66%) went and won - 4 from the first 6 (66.66%) went and won - So a tough first half to the session, but we came through it well, and well played guys to get the money)

'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) won 1 target...........They started their 1st strategy/target on the 2nd runner, and after a poor start they battled back to hit their targets on their 4th lay (the 9th runner). That left them with an insufficient amount left to start another strategy/target and so they end the session winning one target....

'Bank building' strategy/target players had their 1st lay (the 2nd runner) at 2.1, but a poor result see them go behind early........Then came a 'free' lay (the 4th runner) that bought a tiny profit.........They then had their 2nd lay (the 7th runner), and a good result see them claw a chunk back..........They then had their 3rd lay (the 9th runner) at 1.91 max, and a good result see them break level. 4 runner builders stop here, as level with just one potential lay left, and no room at all for error, so always advised to walk at level....

5 runner builders went in search of their 4th lay, and had it on the 11th runner), and a good result see them hit their targets,....

'Bank building' 4 runner strategy/target. £400 bank. Max 25% target £100

1st lay £100 to win as much of the £100 target @ 2.1. Result negative. Lose £100

Total bank now £300

'Free' lay bought average/minimum profit £10

Total bank now £310

2nd lay £102.50 to recoup as much of the £90 @ 3.0 max. Result positive. Win £51

Total bank now £361

3rd lay £180 to recoup the £29 @ 1.91 max. Result positive. Win £29

Total bank now £400

So with level, and just one potential lay left, it's always advised to stop there with now no room at all for error.

Overall result. Level.

Total bank now £400

Total bank now £500

Overall result. Target hit.

Traders had to concede a little on that well backed 12th runner at 2.34 max, but all others see them win a bit, or break level, so they win a tiny bit on the session and that'll suffice...

So a tough first half to the session, but pleased to say we bobbed and weaved through it well, and in the end we hit our targets, or broke level at the very worst, so well played all. Have a good evening and speak again in the morning....

That's what we have to work around for this afternoon then. Never easy, and we never expect it to be, but we do have enough within our armoury to warrant going into battle this afternoon, so that's what we'll do. Discipline to the maximum as always, and take advantage of any prices that come our way. Good luck and speak soon...
