Can sense the frustration...................& it's month-end of course. May pay to play selected meetings or have a lay-off sometimes.

Thanks forumites. Greg u as confused as us with A.Pie....
What we were seeing here today is the result of the obsession of the handicappers to stop or punish as many horses as possible which run well, as quickly as possible, whilst the rest are left alone and dropped. Big variants are the order of the day and this will continue....

Louis how bad is the outside rail? I saw the first race two went there and did not do too badly - Nobody tried to use the rail again but I'm sure it would be better to try it than to bunch up on the inside unless it was totally inferior to the inside

Lg, Anyday anytime is a good horse and he's a better horse than One man's dream. your horse ran its normal race and anyday ran below par. I see the stipes say: wound right nostril, not sure if that's the cause of the bad run. In my mind this horse is going places.

Thanks the opinion Ken. Not sure why you telling me this though. Anyway, Trip Tease is fine and ready for challenges, when it comes to good sprinters...
and we will take the win with One Mans Dream. Our Owners are happy and our team rewarded for their very hard work, which is why we are in racing in the first place.
Mr H, I am in your camp. The jockey room is not what it used to be.... plenty "spook stories" , okes done their nerves before they turn 25 etc. With this comes a reluctance to ride own race, hence the "monkey see monkey do" scenario. Too many " thanks to so and so for telling me about this horse" - can you imagine Puller, Marwing, Coetzee , Marcus, Strydom etc etc needing another jock to tell them how to ride a horse ? So now everyone just follows, straight to inside rail... In Summer, there is a draw bias, but at this time of year and in Winter, there is very little.

Thanks LG - Maybe time a clever trainer finds a young appie and tells him to use that outside rail - I'm sure the other jocks will be shocked - Moreover I fear someone might get hurt with everyone trying to use the inside(there were a few yesterday where the danger of an accident looked on)

I'm really getting tired of these tirades by Louis against the handicappers.
It's all hot air and no substance.
What is it that Louis would the handicappers do?
Be specific in specific cases, Louis, don't use the broad brush.
Let's have your real solution, not just a rant.

I might be behind the pack here(only saw this today) but I do like the LINE HORSE that is now published on GC runons ... but perhaps that should be published on final fields before the race is run - I must also add that I love the reading of stipes reports in the roundup - goes to transparency and that is Kudos to Teletrack
