TN I have to agree with you there Yorker for me. However there could be value to be had having a bet now on the right three year old. Thinking about doubles, trebles etc going into the July as a covering bet.

All the best with your multiples...any horse that beats CTN over 1600m at level weights and then beats Tellina and Wylie Hall over 2000m giving weight is a class act...I have seen the horses performances over the last 6 months and he's improved every time...he gave weight to H54 in the Met and will probably give (more ?) weight again but he's another 6-10 pounds better since that run and only looking better each time...
If a three year old other than Louis the King or Legislate win the Daily News 2000, it muddles the three year old form a bit even taking into account that some are prepping for the July whilst others are needing to win to get in...
I'm not too keen on Louis the King for the July as the Highveld feature season takes too much out of the (younger) horses due to the races and the time period in which they are run...for young athletes to maintain or improve performance over an extended period of time is a step too far and we see the example of Cherry on the Top who dominated the Highveld season winning the Triple Tiara and then ran flat in KZN...and took a long time to win another race...from Oaks win to Gearld Rosenburg win it was 5 runs in between for 1 3rd, 1 4th and 3 unplaced runs (admittedly two of the runs were in handicaps giving weight to colts / geldings)...just a very hard grind to keep a young athlete going for an extended period of time...
I would look at three year olds that didn't run ALL the legs of the Highveld season and will look at those Cape horses that were in top 4 in Guineas or Derby as they have had a nice long break before coming to KZN...
