Wow. Perhaps a shuttle could have been made available for staff who wanted to vote.
There we have it, proof that I'm officially old and "verkramp". When making a decision one normally weighs up the pro's and con's. I don't see it.

Hard for many people in racing(especially the race going grooms) to get to work, races, sort out runner when it gets back and then find transport to a polling station.

So the solution is to cancel the whole day?

JD, the Grooms main representative at Summerveld is a groom of mine. Both he and my Head Groom indicated that most grooms would not go racing until they had voted. They were not going to take the chance that they might be late and not vote. Considering that the 1st floats leave at about 8-830 in the morning it was impossible to get that done before leaving.

We waiting on a new date from the operators. I had Discourse drawn 5/70 or so with Smanga up so I was really hoping for the meeting to go ahead but understand why the 7th was out.

the election date has been known for a very long time so surely gold circle should not have programmed a meeting for this date in the first place if it was going to be a problem.i feel for owners and trainers that have runners programmed for this day that are trying to qualify for feature races in natal especially the sprint day at pmb.the situation in natal is going from bad to worse most are saying its getting butchered and many outsiders are laughing at the manner in which mr eudy continues to defend this useless mob at the helm .
