Happens often with punting. Do you think the stable got money yesterday or lost in that race if they did have a bet?

Craig, u don't know everything! The reason cagiva shortened was by example of this site. All but me said cagiva could not get beat. Anyway the less said the better. Anyhow, for anybody who follows strikers articles on Saturday will go clean OUT !

Flaunt, why are you so aggressive?:S Just because someone questions you on why Pierre was on Cagiva you go off. Just telling other posters what I heard and surmise.BY001 heard the same. Punter still has not answered my question. Did the stable get money or not? You either have more inside knowledge to the stable than Pierre and possibly Sean or it was a lucky guess as all pointers are to Cagiva being the stable elect.

Flaunt I must say you were right we know that but we are missing the point- bottom line is Striker and Tarry for that matter felt Cagiva would win. Its not the first time this has happened so its as simple as that. The whole world except you fancied it because the word was out on the horse but as usual they don't always win as im sure a trainer like Craig knows full well. That's why there are bookies otherwise they would have closed shop long ago if it were so easy

I'm not aggressive at all, problem is everybody assumes! Why not accept that sometimes someone may know more than the other! Simple, I don't have to share, but I choose to! Reason is the more people that win the better. Maybe the cagiva fans should look at Strydoms ride? I thought it was weak, never committed , let the pace be slow and he knew he could not sprint

Craig I said with all due respect...So many times I have seen the stable fancy shorten and money flowing for it yet the stablemate comes out and wins. And more then often does the trainer seem so confused as to how the stablemate won. Why not come out and say that the stablemate was working better and be honest. More then often you find the jockey saying he won't lose and seems even more confused when the stable mate wins. I for one backed Half the Deficitto win so not complaining but more then often I back the wrong one. You are battling to understand because you are one of the few who give honest assessments of your runners.

Punter I am probably just naïve as always try look for the good side of people or situations. I am also not a punting stable as some are. If the horse is good enough then have a bet. No funny business. Thank you for your last comment. I will take it as a compliment. I do not believe in lying about a horse's chances.

After that big coup in the UK a few months back I read a blog by a professional punter which I think tells it all and is overlooked a lot.
He mentioned that there are 2 types of info...............Apparent/general and Real
He states that the apparent/general is the kind imparted at interviews and pre-race previews and on forums etc. but as he states ,when a horse is being set up for a punt, that kind of info is unlikely to extend past 3 or 4 people in the first instance and a next layer of probably a dozen (all the very best trusted friends)
That should not really be a surprise and is why I do not hang on every bit of info around............sometimes helpful but seldom the real McCoy!

It is also important that successful punts are not always obviously reflected in the prices..........we have exotics which often offer bigger returns to the shrewdies!

(BTW I think the comments were only aimed at the punting stables)

Rob spot on.

I was once privy to a coup about 6yrs ago. Horse ran at the Vaal, can't remember the name but it was 66/1 and form was horrendous. Horse was off for 3 months, gelded and first run back it won like a champion. A friend and I took about 70k off the horse off 5 bookies and the horse did not shorten at all. Stablemate was favorite at 3/1 and shortened into 16/10 ??? Stable was thrilled that the 66/1 won and the favorite ran 3rd yet in the interview he said he could not believe it..
