"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon' Monday 24th March Workings...

Afternoon.
This afternoon completed, and went as follows.....
The 1st runner we wanted 3.0, and with being around 2.9 and getting slightly shorter on arrival, we had a lay at 2.9 max. The price then drifted out to our own price of 3.3 and beyond, so a chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade went and won a battling finish, so the way it goes, but glad of the 'free' lay now....
The 2nd runner we wanted 2.5, and with being around 3.25 on arrival and not coming down to our lay price at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten, so the drift justified and 'one that got away in hindsight'........
The 3rd runner we wanted 3.3, and with being around 3.25 on arrival, we had a lay at around 3.25. The lay came in 2nd after a battling finish, so a good result.........
The 4th runner we wanted 1.66, and with being around 1.69 on arrival and then dropping down to us, we had a lay at 1.66. The lay wasn't on his game today and was easily beaten, so a good result...........
The 5th runner we wanted 2.8, and with being around 2.78 on arrival, we had a lay at around 2.78. The price then drifted out to our own price of 3.1 and beyond, so a chance for traders (builders hit and finished) to have a 'free' lay before the race. The lay/trade went and won a battle, so the way it goes...........
The 6th runner we wanted 3.2, but the race was off on arrival, so on to the next runner......Incidentally the runner was beaten, so good news for early traders......
The 7th runner we wanted 3.0, and with drifting to around 3.3 on arrival and just getting bigger, race to race players had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten, so the drift beat race to racers to the punch. Grr!. Early traders happy though.......
The 8th runner we wanted 2.32, but a non runner and 2.8% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.28. There was then another non runner and further 8.3% reduction, so now we wanted a lay price of 2.17 (2.18 nearest exchange price). The price was around 2.0 on arrival and getting shorter, so we had a lay at around 2.0 max. The lay came in 2nd after a battle, so a good result.......
The 9th runner we wanted 2.1, and with being around 2.72 on arrival and not coming back down to our lay price, race to racers had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten, so the drift beat race to racers to the punch. Grr! Early traders happy though......
The 10th runner we wanted 2.5, and with being around 3.1 on arrival and just getting bigger, we never see our lay price at any stage at all, so all had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten, so 'one that got away in hindsight'...........
The 11th runner we wanted 2.7, and with drifting to around 2.78 on arrival and just getting bigger, race to racers had to avoid the race. The runner threw the race away and was beaten, so the drift beat race to racers to the punch. Grr! Early traders again happy......
The 12th runner we wanted 2.5, and with drifting to around 2.6 on arrival and then dropping down to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 2.5 max. The price then went the other way and drifted out to our own price of 2.8, so a chance for traders (builders finished now) to have a 'free' lay before the race. The lay/trade went and won, so the way it goes.......
The 13th runner was a non runner due to the abandonment of Fakenham, so not sure why I put him in, but let's move on anyhow....
The 14th runner we wanted 3.5, and with being around 4.5 on arrival and with not coming down to us at any stage, we all had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten, so the drift justified and 'one that got away in hindsight'........
The 15th runner we wanted 2.5, and with drifting to around 2.76 on arrival and not coming back down to us, race to racers had to avoid the race. The runner went and won, so glad of the drift now and a good leave......
The 16th runner was a non runner due to the abandonment of Fakenham, so on to the next runner......
The 17th and final runner we wanted 2.2, and with being around 2.26 on arrival, around 30 minutes to the race, and with only a bit of trading left on offer - I'm leaving it there for the day. Good luck traders if you play on......
WELL PLAYED..........
'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) ended up level............They started their 1st strategy/target on the 1st runner, and after a big battle they ended up going to their 5th lay (the 8th runner) to recoup, and did, so they finish level...............They then found themselves with an insufficient amount of lays left with Fakenham off, so they end the day level...
Bank building strategy/target players started with a 'free' lay (the 1st runner) that only bought relief............They then had their 1st lay (the 3rd runner) at 3.25, and a good result see them win a chunk of their targets............They then had their 2nd lay (the 4th runner) at 1.66, and a good result see them hit their targets.....
Bank builder 4 runner strategy/target. £400 bank. Max 25% target £100
'Free' lay bought no tiny profit, only relief.
Total bank remains £400
1st lay £100 to win as much of the £100 target @ 3.25. Result positive. Win £44
Total bank now £444
2nd lay £148 to win the remaining £56 @ 1.66. Result positive. Win £56
Total bank now £500
Overall result. Target hit.

2nd lay £108 to win the remaining £65 @ 1.66. Result positive. Win £65
Total bank now £500
Overall result. Target hit.

Traders either won, or broke level on all their trades, so certainly a traders day today with all those drifters and well played.....
So builders played a solid and discipline start to the day, and got their rewards, so well played guys. Rollers ended level, and couldn't ever get to grips with the day due to far too many drifters, but that's the way it goes and levels will suffice. Have a good evening and speak in the morning......
Marc.

All races priced up with non runners taken into account, up until 10:17am.
Bank holiday then, and you know how I feel about there being too much racing, but it's the way it is and we'll do what we can. The times of races can get mixed about a bit if a delay here or there, but we'll just take each race as it comes, so if we have to miss a race, then so be it. Also there's not much liquidity within the markets, so not easy to tell the significant drifts and gambles this morning to help us finalise that end price! Anyhow, we have enough within our armoury to go into battle, so discipline to the maximum as always, and take advantage of any prices that come our way. Good luck guys, and speak soon..
