hollywood limits
11 years 2 months ago
Today i placed a R10 open win bet on a horse that paid R18.90 for a win, Now theres new limits apparently and I was paid R6.30, I think this is a load of bullshit, if i am in no way exceding the pool. why should i not be paid the tote dividend? Reason enough to take my business elsewhere
Open Win and Open Place Limits
Not withstanding the pool size, Hollywood reserves its right to limit the odds payable on open wins and open places to a maximum of 50% over the fixed odds starting price of the horse (being the last price laid by Hollywood). The payout limit will be the lesser of the Saftote pool size and the value of the stake applied at the odds limit.
By way of example, if a horse has a starting price of 2/1 and pays R5 for a win (odds of 4/1) on the totalisator (where the pool size was R15000) and a customer has R1000 wins, then the payout will be limited to odds of 3/1. Should a customer (syndicate of customers or any group of people acting in conjunction with each other as may be determined by Hollywood in its sole discretion) have had R5000 wins on the horse then the maximum win amount will be the pool size

Was just contacted by Patrick from hollywood bets now. He did explain to me the terms and conditions and the reasoning behind it. I can understand their point of view, just was previously unaware of the fine print and the way in which my query was handled but all seems resolved now.

I had the same problem on Friday, operator wouldn't take my bet and then wouldn't let me speak to a supervisor. They wouldn't even give my son a Yankee of R110.00 (R10 a bet) Not the first time. After successful few years we have decided to move on.
Mark Michael, bookie at Meyersdal , took double the bet without blinking....

big big ups for Mark Michael....
is he not also the bookie that paid out the monster marcus yankee on Met day?
please post Mark Michaels contact details please Mark , lots of clanners will do the same as you.
Dev always needs to sort out Hollywood's problems (see the amount of complains on many other threads) ...good man Dev but punters need a hassle free bookie , not a bookie with his best employee to sort out the problems
i for one had to make 6 calls last month to hollywood to get just a simple R100 deposit reflect in my account that was deposited a day before.... and i got a massive R10 from them for my birthday.....i also dont bother to punt with them anymore

This is the first I have heard of this from Hollywood. Not once I have been limited by them for open wins or open places. On some occasions I have picked up 25% to 50% of the pool in the smaller venues. Im very unhappy about this move. If this is the case if your open win pays less than the fixed odds then you should get the fixed odds price for the win as Marshalls had a rule like this but for some reason stopped it.

In my opinion, lately Hollywood's business has been damaged by too much micro-managing.
A good brand and reputation can be eroded if its tampered with too much.
Have the right prices, lay decent bets. Its not really that complicated.

Hearing more and more stories of people being limited to miniscule amounts at Hollywood. Even on sports bets.
