P A CONFUSION
11 years 3 months ago
I am confused. :S
At Ayr yesterday, 5 horses carded, 2 were scratched. 3 runners jumped. Halfway the favourite pulls out of the race and does not finish. He does not qualify for the PA. My question is why? He qualified for the trifecta. If the PA punters must suffer, surely that means the trifecta pool is null & void.
All horses that started should qualify for the PA IMHO, but I would like to see the rule that excludes this fact.
Anyway, drink more and worry less, best way to avoid confusion.

im surprised they had a trifecta pool in a 3 horse field, but as the PA rule stands at the moment if all 3 horses failed to finish then the pool would have been a carry over...imagine having field in your pa and missing :S
Give everything but up!

The Place Accumulator is a big problem in small field hurdles races,
as Titch is correct that under the current rules if no horses finish the
race the PA is a carry over.
I believe this issue has been raised with Vee Moodley before but no
solution has been forthcoming. Seems they would rather wait for the
horse to bolt before closing the stable door. This seems to be the SOP
at the moment.
