greyville the facts since august 1st 2012 to end of march 2014

a good few friends of mine hire boxes from greyville and have been complaining that they should recieve refunds due to the lack of oppurtunities they get to use the box so i thought i would do a quick survey to check up on the use of greyville racecourse since august 1st 2012 to march 31st 2014 taking into account no more racing there at least till the month end of march......the period under review is 20 months in total....as per tabgold the racecourse has had a total of 198 races run on it over this period which if you take a normal raceday is 9 races therefore this equates to 22 RACE MEETINGS OVER A 20 MONTH PERIOD SO BASICALLY ONE MEETING PER MONTH....on average 8 to 9 racemeetings are held per month in natal and greyville has hosted one and the other 7 or 8 have been shared by the other 2 tracks...i can understand their grievances now that iv seen the facts...

What are the costs of renting a box?

Pirates there has been 515 races in Jungle Juice land in the same period
959 in PE between the two tracks

so they should keep their traps shut because greyville hosted their 2 to 3 meets a month allocated to them back then? oh ok

1511 in KZN so about 20% to Greyville

1923 races in KZN from 1 Jan 2010 - Tue, 28 Feb 2012 and Greyville had 612 just under 30% so greyville has lost about a 3rd of its fixtures recently?

Can the box be used any day of the year for private parties too? Obviously if you rent the box for a year it can't just be made available to you on a race day. I understand this doesn't distract from the reality that a race meeting a month is not sufficient
