Vaal Pick Six Pay out SAFTOTE
11 years 3 months ago
i am confused by Saftote Payout screen.
they have two separate pick six dividends.
surely the 5th leg is just 2 horses instead of 1. not create a separate dividend for pick six.
just confusing. i never made it past Jimmy Fucking lightning

not actually - You may have had 25 tickets of horse A(one combination) and 200 tickets on horse B(second combination) - You can see the exact same thing with the difference in the exacta dividend in that race - more people had the 8 a winner. The pool is split

Totally confused as well...the deadheat was with two horses paying different dividends, and yet the P6 payout s the same.
So what you are saying is that by some sheer coincidence, that the number of live tickets on the deadheats somehow balanced out to result in the exact same payouts.
What a load of bull???

Re: Re: Vaal Pick Six Pay out SAFTOTE

Maybe I need to go back to elementary school, to relearn my basic arithmethic
My point is how is it possible for P6 pool to be split in half for a deadheat on horses paying different amounts for a win..
And why does taboline show payout of R450k on each of the deadheaters which makes up the total pool amount, and then show a carryover of approx R500k.
If I add this up, using my basic arithmethic, it would be R450k, plus R450, plus c/o approxR500k. Total R1.4m vs pool of R900k.
Would it not make more sense to show what amount was actually won on both the deadheats, and the net amount carried over, so when you add the two payout amounts together with the carryover, it all ADDS UP TO THE NET POOL OF R900k
Simple maths.

Re: Re: Vaal Pick Six Pay out SAFTOTE

Dear Dave,
Just to set the record straight - that yesterdays P6 dividend declared at the Vaal was 100% correct. To my surprise i also received a few text messages inquiring about the dividend ?The process followed has been the same since inception of the bet.
The NETT pool was R 900 522,71.
When there is a Dead Heat(2 horses) - the pool is split in half - (if a triple dead heat then the pool will be split by a third and so on...)
Therefore going into the last leg there would be 2 dividends based on a new Nett of R 450261,30(Horse 6) and R 450261,30(horse
The winning horse (5) in the last leg had (0,5539554) and (0,2719686) winning combinations BECAUSE there were no FULL tickets the Dividend declared will always be the Pool Total, therefor, R 450261,30 x 0,5539554 = R 249424,61 Paid and the balance carried forward R 200836,70 and R 450261,30 x 0,2719686 = R 122456.93 Paid and the balance of R 327804.37 carried forward - total carry over amount R 528641,07
Under normal circumstances when there is NO dead heat and the winning combinations(tickets) are less than ONE the dividend declared is always the Nett Pool.
Trust that the above clears any misunderstanding.
Vee

Would help if basic rules were published for all to see.
Any idea where I can get these basic rules from.
Mr H, not slagging anything, self righteousness is a bad thing, asking a question means, please clarify.
Also, as you are well aware, the credibility of tote payouts always rears its ugly head.
And, the fact that this was passed onto Mr Vee for a response, and a response received, is great for racing.
To Len Sham, Phumela, set the precedent for Punters to see the bad things in racing. Human nature is such that in general, they will trust a situation first, before they find reason to mistrust, and unfortunately punters have been given many reasons over the years to mistrust.
