I know this topic has been discussed before, but will they ever return? I gave up on 2 year old betting but i have become hooked with bi pots and for some reason nearly every bipot starts off with a race with majority of unraced horses.Years ago the barrier trials worked very well, and was carded in race cards.There is nothing better than a horse having a race course gallop with other horsers, surely it helps trainers to know where they are, and as a punter it gives me a chance to know what to expect.
It would help trainers imensly, the amount of times lately that the pre race coment is very very speedy and well run well, and the amount of times that horse will be lost near the back of the field,Today in kimberly the baby that won the second race was extremely well bred.backed from 22-10 into odds on and the coment was not stable money and will be green, they prefered the horse that ran 13 lenghts behind and was scratched.After 200 meters you could see this was different class and race over, a barrier trial would have shown them what they had and shown the punter what to expect.Infact if they had a barrier trial with this horse they could have saved the trip to Kimberley and gone for bigger stakes.
I really wish they would come back so that i could push mute button when the presenters talk.They worked very well then in those days why not now??
