If any area of racing is having an adverse affect on the interests of owners, it,directly or indirectly, becomes an RA issue, surely.
Whether it be lost meetings ,a tote that chases customers to the open bet, etc. etc. etc.
Question? is the RA happy that the operators are providing the best possible environment for owners...................I can't believe the answer is "yes"..................so what pressure is being put on them, on behalf of owners.................or is that an unfair question?
In theory, the RA should be almost permanently negotiating with operators........................... rather than holding their hand!

Rob pple really think we are a bit dof down here in kimberley this is not the 1st time we have lost a meet and def not the 1st time that we have been told that a meeting woild be rescheduled lo and behold the previous time it happened 2 mdn plates were added to 2meetings and that was it the previous times it happened we were told sraight away that a meeting abandoned is a just that its abandoned never 2 be rescheduled so for the stakes being there i dont know what happened 2 that but we never nominated accepted or race for those stakemoney ever again die boere het n seding wat se ek het dit aan my broek gevoel meaning we have felt that feeling

You are a big boy Flash...............when great amounts of money change hands, have you ever known it to be for "no reason".....lol
My point is that owners need somebody fighting for their cause, and it needs to be apparent !
I don't doubt Larry's passion for racing................is passion enough?

Flash if the monies were used for whatever other reasons than for racing in kimberley i dont know but what i do know is that i am voicinh my opinion not for myself but because i have owners that pay me to look after their horses and give them a fair chance of recouping what they have put in we lost a meet in jan and till this day not a word has been spoken bout replacing that meet and thats a month ago surely if they dont care bout that meet then how much are they gonna care bout monday meeting

when gold circle lost all their meetings due to the weather they replaced them even if meant racing alongside another centre..the turnover story doesnt wash with me anymore as both operators know how to drive customers away through their own ineffeciencies and stubborness to listen to their client the punter...the owner is a rare species he puts in around 700mil a year into the game and along with the punter is keeping the game going....remember the unclaimed tickets and also the rounding off of payouts to the lower decimil this massive amount must be put away to finance the abandoned meetings ....instead its added to the bottom line

Fact of the matter is that Kimberley does not have the horse population for more than 36 meetings a year, as written by Sham Racing. At present Kimberley is not filling fields, with 36 meetings scheduled, so how are they going to fill added meetings ?
The monday meetings in PE are, therefore, filling in for Kimberley, who cannot do so....
And when an extra slot cannot be found, then another option is to add in extra races to existing programmes and to allow for races to be split, when oversubscribed, eg maidens.
I still remain convinced that Kimberley's days are numbered. This is just based upon my being an outsider and looking in, with no motive or agenda. To me it must be a nightmare trying to run the place and it is obviously not that cost effective at all, with everyone having to be bussed in or flown in for each meeting. There are always problems there and the complaints and moaning never stops. The PE polytrack and Vaal Sand could easily share those 36 monday meetings. I wonder what the cost would be and what the turnovers would do ?
