Race 1 – 2:40 – 32Red.com All Weather Hands And Heels Apprentice Series Handicap – class 6 – 4yo+(0-600 – 1m5f194y

Waving is the best handicapped horse in the race and has shown a little more in his last 2 starts finishing 3rd on both occasions. Ali Rawlinson is making a name for himself riding for Mick Appleby and with Tony Carroll having an excellent record over the years in February he is the one to beat. Taste The Wine (IRE) is a course and distance winner that will strip fitter for his run last time out at Kempton, his first since August. He is dropping down the weights to a mark he can be competitive off and he is now just 2lb above his course and distance winning mark. Louis Steward is a capable pilot and he has every chance especially if the first time cheek pieces have the desired effect. Kyllachykov (IRE) is fairly lightly raced of late but comes into this having just been denied by the thriving Grandad Mac at Southwell. He is a dual course winner here over a mile and he is another that has every chance if able to build on his last run. We don’t get involved betting wise in Apprentice races, this looks a straight match between Taste The Wine and Waving

Race 2 – 3:10 – 32Red Fillies Handicap – class 5 – 4yo+(0-75) – 7f32y

Funky Cold Medina is an 8 race maiden but she comes into this on the back of a 2nd over course and distance behind Smalljohn. She has every chance of breaking her maiden if able to build on her last run. Maggie Pink is a 3 times course and distance winner that is 4lb above her last winning mark. She is dropped in class having performed with credit last time in a better race than this and she makes plenty of appeal for a yard that is in form. Wake Up Little Suzy (IRE) is a course and distance winner that has been running in plating grade of late. She looks held by her current mark and will need to improve to win this. Dance For Georgie is a course and distance winner that is held by Funky Cold Medina on their run last time and it is hard to see the form being reversed. This looks a straight fight between Funky Called Medina and Maggie Pink

Race 3 – 3:40 – 32Red Handicap – class 2 – 4yo+(0-105) – 2m119y

Communicator comes into this on the back of a fine 2nd behind Arch Villain at Lingfield in a conditions race. He has to prove as effective at this track but he looks to hold every chance of doing so. He has the beating of Exemplary on their run last time and should confirm the form. Shelford (IRE) is up 5lb for a game win last time where he held of Scottish Boogie despite looking a sitting duck for the final mile. He finished in front of Be Perfect (USA) at Kempton and both of them have plenty to find with Communicator on a line through Arch Villain. Kashmir Peak (IRE) is a talented horse and comes into this on the back of a 2nd last time behind Magika. He is stepped up in trip which should suit and he looks to be the one to give Communicator the most to do.

Race 4 – 4:10 – Coral APP Download From The APP Store Maiden Stakes – class 5 – 4yo+ – 1m4f50y

Wilhanna (IRE) is consistent but seems to always find one too good. She is sure to give her running again but she isn’t one to take a short price about. Puzzle Time is worth a check in the betting for a yard that has a decent record here. Teenage Dream (IRE) has fared better on the AW than in bumpers finishing 2nd here over course and distance. He is moderate though and it will be a surprise were he not to find oner too good. Angelot Du Berlais (FR) is a winner over hurdles and had some fair flat form. He was only average when last seen on the flat but this is a very weak race and he looks to hold every chance. Strong support in the betting could be significant for a shrewd yard. A poor maiden that makes no appeal whatsoever betting wise. Wilhana is sure to be thereabouts but is vulnerable

Race 5 – 4:40 – Ladbrokes Selling Stakes – class 6 – 3yo+ – 7f32y

Ocean Legend (IRE) would be a selection had this not been Wolverhampton. Stoney Quine (IRE) has been in fine form around Southwell cleaning up in this grade and has claims if able to translate the form onto this track. Munaawib is a course and distance winner that looks up against it at the weights. For Shia And Lula (IRE) is a course winner that should strip fitter for his return last time out over course and distance. The yard has a fine 38.46% strike rate in sellers and a good record when teaming up with Shane Kelly. Ain’t No Surprise (IRE) is a 9 race maiden that arrives in form having found one to good on her last 5 starts. Her run behind Basil Berry is strong form for this grade and she is the one to beat.

Race 6 – 5:10 – LAdbrokes Conditions Stakes – class 2 – 4yo+ – 1m141y

Bix (IRE) has no place in this race and shouldn’t be allowed to race. Chookie Royale is 3/4 at this track and finished 2nd on the other occasion. He arrives in top form having found only Grey Mirage too strong last time. He is well treated at the weights and with the yard in form he rates as the one they all have to beat. Birdman (IRE) returned to form last time with the fitting of headgear winning a shade cosily at Lingfield. He finished 3/4 length in front of Luhaif who meets him again on 6lb better terms. David Simcock also sends Apostle (IRE) but he looks to be 2nd choice on jockey bookings. Star Links (USA) has plenty to find on these terms but the 7 times course winner should not be dismissed out of hand. Birdman has every chance if the headgear works a 2nd time

Race 7 – Compare Bookmakers At Bookmakers.co.uk Handicap – class 6 – 4yo+(0-60) – 5f20y

Volcanic Dust (IRE) ended a long losing run last time over course and distance beating Daneglow (IRE) by half a length. He is up 2lb which leaves him well treated on his best form and he has every chance of backing up here if able to build on the win. Milton Bradley has a 15.11% s/r with last time out winners for a slight profit and an a/e of 1.01. Daneglow is 2lb better off with Volcanic Dust and is weighted to reverse the form. He has’t fared too well with the draw but he has a capable pilot on board and is one to consider. Methaaly (IRE) isn’t the force of old but he can still mix it at this level. He caught the eye on a couple of occasions of late and comes into this having given 10 lengths plus away at the start last time and finished very strongly to take 5th at the line and arguably would of won had he got away on terms. He needs a strong pace to aim at which he should get with plenty of pace on and he looks to hold every chance. Imaginary Diva is a course and distance winner that comes into this having been raised a lb after finishing 2nd to the in form Roy’s Legacy at Lingfield. She is well treated on her course and distance win and she looks to have every chance of here if able to build on her last run. There is little between her and Volcanic Dust on a line through Speedy Fix and she is another to consider in a tricky race. Volcanic Dust has every chance of backing up here for the in form Milton Bradley

The best horse doesn't always win the race.
