Mr H, I may have read it wrong, as I only saw the Met once, live. Hill Fifty Four changed legs from the near fore to the off fore and then hung outwards. Anton did not take him there, but rather just went with him.

The Vaal Turf is domed as a surface, in a convex manner. Thats why they used to split into two groups in years gone by, before the division of the surface. So the golden rule nowadays is inside draws on inside track and outside draws on outside track. Van Wyk is one example of many hundreds. I would guess, though, at the two prime reasons for him doing this, by staying away from the field. The first could be that the horse would over race early and pull when next to company and the second could be that the horse would throw in the towel if challenged near the death by another horse.

As for instructions, I dont give them. The reason is because bad jocks cant follow them and dont have a plan b or c and good jocks dont need them, because they will adapt and ride the best race in the circumstances. I simply tell my riders about the horse's tendencies, preferences or quirks.

gentle rain here now, turning to fine drizzle...

Shepherds Song can be given another chance today over 6 furlong and he is drawn nicely. Maybe swinger with whatever Mr H likes... ? (he does find them) I will log in when on course and see what he likes...

My exact thought - If Umgiyo is in fact scratched this horse will be in the first two and places are a must

Formgrids has amended - they may have scratched in error because of the Jockey change

Race 1
Nice support for the well bred newcomer, african G should go well if not needing the run...- will swing with latino ice and anna galeria and latino ice

Race 2
Rakes chestnut was supported on debut and won like a really good thing..can easily run them ragged again..umyigo track debut and is now gelded..will challenge the favorite...master rivas , zanzibar man and deckie boy can also show

Race 3
Sugaree has decent form but draw might be taxing...bags of boodle showed on debut with some support and will run a big race from draw 1-lerena up....tinsletown and shirla look ready to win as well...bags of boodle for me

Race 4
Ziegles very poor runs at turf after a lot of support...stryker has stuck with her and that could mean something....maybe distance factor so will run huge race...tuscon dream can improve with blinker strike but has been quite average so far...may make a race of it...poppy fields my value...I will take the swinger with Z

Gotta go so others I like today
Baracah
Tommy gun
Lizzy grey
Lady muffet

Take care and play well
