Jet Explorer - Met

If Jet Explorer is scratched/withdrawn tomorrow, does the poor punter suffer a pathetic deduction on all bets struck up to now? This would be a tragedy and not good for racing especially as he has been doubtful and why should the punters suffer again? Maybe I'm wrong but I just feel with all the speculation it's unfair keeping the betting open and taking money knowing their could be a scratching and therefore a deduction.

Only bets struck after final field was announced will be subject to a deduction.

Surely the connections are entitled to give their horse every opportunity to race - these races do not come along too often in a horse's career - if some punters suffer a small deduction it is unfortunate - but not the owners / connections fault :S

agree- i'm sure they are devastated and though i did not fancy him because of my bias towards CTN and the other two on his last run he had a realistic chance of earning/winning

I agree but if you've had a big bet it doesn't workout to be a small deduction.. I just think with a doubtful runner they should come up with some plan to also protect the punter from the deduction. I hope he runs though, for all concerned.

Not sure how / what plan - the odds were set with JE in the race - if he comes out, every other runner has a better chance of winning, so not unfair that there should be deductions :S

If not for the setback, I would have gladly taken you on with a little side bet between JE and CTN, but as it stands one can't be confident of JE producing his best

Unbelievable. You should have to prove you older than 11 to post here.

If a bookie refunds a scratched horse then a deduction must be made on the other runners as those prices are adjusted. If you don't want the deduction then don't complain when your bookie does not refund you when your horse is scratched. You canT have your cake and eat it.

Andrew Bonn went to the beach to film yesterday and said: "Justin Snaith said that Jet Explorer will be 100% ready.

"Snaith said 'its a miracle, the sea had done the trick over the last weeek'."

Bonn added that the horse is looking "absolutely fantaststic".
