Race 2 – 12:50 – 32Red Maiden Stakes div 1 – class 5 – 3yo – 1m
War Of Art (IRE) shaped with promise on debut here finishing 6th over 7f. The step up to a mile is a positive and he is one to watch in the betting as strong support could be significant. Both jockey and trainer have a profitable record at Lingfield both individually and as a combination. He is a half brother to the smart Kingsdesire and Lucky Beggar and is very much one to consider. Mbhali (IRE) shaped with promise on debut amid inexperience and is sure to have learned plenty for the experience. He is by Cape Cross who has a 15% s/r over course and distance with his progeny and a half brother to polytrack winner Palomas Prince. Mark Johnston has a profitable record over the past 5 years with runners returning between 14-42 days and he is another that needs to be considered. Third Strike hasn’t shown enough on 2 starts to think he is up to winning this and looks more of a handicap project. Final Countdown improved on his debut to finish 2nd in a 4 runner race last time at Wolves. He will need to improve again to land this and is only of interest if the money arrives. The market will speak in favour of the fancied horses and it is not a race we could get too heavily involved in. We think the one that makes the most appeal is War Of Art at 4/
Race 3 – 1:25 – 32Red Maiden Stakes div 2 – class 5 – 3yo – 1m
Timeless War (USA) finished 3rd over course and distance 2 runs back before finding the longer trip against him last time. He is one to consider. Can’t Change It (IRE) is sure to improve on his debut 4th at Wolverhampton. He is bred to be decent and is another to consider as is Witch From Rome who will have learned plenty from her debut where she wasn’t knocked about and she is definitely one to watch in the betting. Not a race we could get involved in betting wise where the market will reveal the fancied runners, our token selection is Witch From Rome at 8/1
Race 4 – 2:00 – 32Red Casino Selling Stakes – class 6 – 3yo – 6f
Aspirant failed in his bid for the 3 timer last time out, it was an extremely strong race and he wasn’t disgraced. He is a course and distance winner that has to be considered in this grade. Skinny Love made the most of a drop to plating class 4 runs back at Wolves and has been competitive in handicaps making the frame in every race since. She has a bit to find at the weights with Aspirant but she is in form and needs to be considered. Ealain Aibrean (IRE) has been exposed as moderate. She comes into this on the back of a 2nd at Southwell behind Argent Knight at Southwell. He let the form down yesterday and Ealain Aibrean has plenty to find with some of these. Our selection is Aspirant
Race 5 – 2:35 – Best Odds At Bookmakers.co.uk Sprint Series Round 3 Handicap Qualifier – class 5 – 4yo+(0-75) – 6f
Lujeanie made it 3 course and distance wins last time out for which he has gone up 4lb. He is still well treated on his best form and he has to be considered. Welease Bwian (IRE) is a reformed character of late having just failed to complete the 3 timer last time out finishing a neck behind Lujeanie. He meets him again 1lb better off and there should be little between the two again. Glastonberry is a course and distance winner that has claims on her best form but like Lujeanie hasn’t fared well on the draw front and it will take a big run to win this. Bapak Muda (USA) has won 2 of his 10 starts and will strip fitter for his run last time at Kempton his first for 3 months. He has yet to run at Lingfield but it should suit, his sire Distorted Humour has a 50% s/r over course and distance. Valmina finished 3/4 length in front of Seek The Fair Land last time over course and distance. Seek The Fair Land is taken to reverse the form on 3lb better terms 10lb if you take into account the riders claim. Tagula Night (IRE) is a course and distance winner that hasn’t won since April last year. He isn’t badly treated on his best form and he comes into this having run well in a better race than this. The drop back to 6f is a positive and we think he could run a big race. Seek The Fair Land is sure to go close and a big run from Lujeanie is also expected
Race 6 – 3:10 – Compare Bookmakers At Bookmakers.co.uk Handicap – class 3 – 4yo+(0-95) – 6f
Novellen Lad (IRE) comes here on search of his 3rd course and distance win on the bounce. He beat the re-opposing Azergam by a neck last time and meets him on 4lb better terms after Azergam won next time. The form of the race is working out well with most of the field running well next time and Novellen Lad is sure to go well and is taken to uphold the form. Trinityelitedotcom (IRE) is in the form of his life and comes into this having just been touched off by the thriving Caspian Prince last time at Wolves. He hasn’t run at Lingfield before but it should suit being by Elusive City who has a 19.51% s/r over course and distance. Al’s Memory (IRE) thrived at this ime last year and comes into this on the back of a fair run at Wolves last weekend where he was just touched off at Wolverhampton. A return to this track is a huge positive as he is a course specialist and well treated on the pick of last years form. He could offer some e/w value in a tight looking race but our selection is Novellen Lad
Race 7 – 3:45 – Ladbrokes Handicap – class 2 – 4yo+(0-100) – 1m
Haalf A Sixpence comes into this on the back of a fair 3rd off this mark at Wolverhampton. He holds Favourite Treat on that run and is set to confirm the form. He won here on his only start previously and he looks sure to go well and the one to beat. Strictly Silver (IRE) is the highest rated horse in the field who has placed form at this track. He stays further than this so a strong pace will suit. He doesn’t look to have too much in hand off his current mark but he is dangerous to dismiss. Dance And Dance (IRE) is quite frankly a disappointing horse. He has excuse made after excuse and he continually gets backed. He is very well treated off this mark and he has claims if everything drops right, but these comments have applied for sometime and he still hasn’t won for 18 months. Luhaif is interesting on his first start for Julia Fielding. He will probably need this after such a long break and he will struggle to get near the front from stall 11. He is one of the more interesting runners at a big price though. George Guru is a dual course and distance winner that will need a career best to win this. Upavon is a progressive horse winning 3 of 10 starts but he has to prove he stays this far. True To Form (IRE) has been a winning machine over the years winning 10 of his 35 starts. He has struggled of late off higher marks but he has been given a chance by the handicapper and back on his last winning mark. The return of David Probert in the saddle is a positive as he rode him to his last win. Haalf A Sixpence is the form horse but he has a poor draw in stall 12 to over come. We think the e/w value in the race is True To Form at 14/1
Race 8 – 4:15 – 32Red.com Handicap – class 6 – yo(0-65) – 1m2f
Dutchartcollector got off the mark last time out at Kempton beating Masterpaver in the process. They meet again today with Dutchartcollector 1lb better due to Masterpaver’s win last time at Wolverhampton. The form of their Kempton race is working out well with several winning since. The longer trip is set to suit Masterpaver as he lacks tactical speed but looks a thorough stayer. Blossom Lane finished a head behind Masterpaver last time at Wolverhampton and is weighted to reverse the form. She is bred to better than she has shown and she is still open to improvement on only her 5th start. Mary Le Bow caught the eye staying on into 4th when unfancied last time out here over a mile. She makes her handicap debut off a workable mark and the longer trip looks in her favour. Ede’s The Business has only shwon minimal promise in 3 maiden runs but is another that could improve now handicapping. She is stepped up in trip which should suit and she is one to watch in the betting as strong support could be telling. A wide open race where a few of these could improve out of recognition now handicapping. Mary Le Bow and Ede’s The Business fall into that category and we are going to take an e/w punt on Ede’s The Business at 28/1
