"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon' Monday 17th March Workings...
17 years 2 months ago
Afternoon.
This afternoon completed, and went as follows......
The 1st runner we wanted 3.3, and with being around 3.45 on arrival and then dropping down to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 3.3. The price then drifted out to our own price of 3.6 and beyond, so now a chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade was beaten, so a good result........
The 2nd runner we wanted 1.5, and with being around 1.73 on arrival, and then dropping down to us and beyond under good support, we had a lay at 1.5 max. The lay pulled up quite early (severed a tendon apparently), so hope all's not too bad for him and he gets well soon, but a good result financially.........
The 3rd runner we wanted 2.6, and with being around 2.8 on arrival and then dropping down to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 2.6 max. The lay went and won, as the main dangers jumped poorly, so the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it........
The 4th runner we wanted 2.7, and with getting that and slightly shorter on arrival, we had a lay at 2.7 max. The price then drifted out to our own price of 3.0 and beyond, so a chance for traders (builders finished) to have a 'free' lay before the race. The lay/trade ran a poor race to be honest and was easily beaten before being pulled, so again hope all's OK, but a good result financially........
The 5th runner we wanted 3.1, and with being a well supported 2.76 on arrival and getting shorter, we had a lay at 2.76 max. The lay did well to hold off two late finishers and get his first win, so gamble landed, and the way it goes..........
The 6th runner we wanted 2.5, and with getting around 2.42 and slightly shorter on arrival, we had a lay at 2.42 max. The lay was nicely beaten after a strange race, so a good result..........
The 7th runner we wanted 2.2, and with drifting to around 2.94 on arrival and only getting bigger, race to racers had to avoid the race. The runner went and won well, so a nice priced winner in the end, but more importantly a good leave..........
The 8th runner we wanted 2.8, and with being around 2.64 on arrival, we had a lay at around 2.64. The race is around 30 minutes away, so with all strategy play finished and just a bit of trading left, I'll be calling it a day and off to practise my swing! Good luck if you play on guys..
WELL PLAYED...........
'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) won 1 target............They started their 1st strategy/target on the 1st runner, then went and hit that target on their 2nd lay (the 2nd runner)................They then started their 2nd strategy/target on the 3rd runner, and after a battle they ended up breaking level on their 4th lay (the 6th runner), so with being level and only one potential lay left and no room at all for error, they end it there, so levels.............That left only four potential lays left, so not enough to start another strategy/target, so they end the session winning 1 target.......
Bank building strategy/target players started with a 'free' lay (the 1st runner) that bought a tiny profit..............They then had their 1st lay (the 2nd runner) at 1.5 max, and a good result see them hit their targets for a nice early day.........
Bank builder 4 runner strategy. £400 bank. Max 25% target £100
'Free' lay bought average/minimum profit £10
Total bank now £410
1st lay £102.50 to win the remaining £90 @ 1.5 max. Result positive. Win £90
Total bank now £500
Overall result. Target hit.

Bank builder 5 runner strategy. £400 bank. Max 25% target £100
'Free' lay bought average/minimum profit £8
Total bank now £408
1st lay £81.60 to win the £92 needed @ 1.5 max. Result positive. Win £92
Total bank now £500
Overall result. Target hit.

Traders had to concede a little on the 5th runner at 2.76 max, but all others have seen them win a bit, or break level, so they're around levels at the very worst, so good luck with the remainder....
So builders had a nice early shoot, so good stuff there, and although rollers had a battle on their 2nd strategy, they broke level on that and so win 1 target on the day, and that will always suffice! . Have a good evening guys, and speak again in the morning...
Marc.

That's what we have to work on for this afternoon then. Never easy, and we don't ever expect it to be, but we do have enough within our armoury to warrant going into battle, so discipline to the maximum and take advantage of any prices that come our way. Good luck and speak soon...
