Race 5 - Eternal Jet looks a promising sort .
Slight concern that he might start needing further but he is unbeaten this distance and both wins are strong form lines .
First run in the Cape was from a deep draw so not a bad run .

his rating when winning last time at clairwood was capped to 6 points as it was a plate race but he ran to a much higher rating that day maybe rob faux or frodo could tell us what they think he ran to...also the 4yos in the race are carrying the 6 point hike which will fall away very soon so you could be right tim eternal jet looks well in today....obvious concerns is how he has settled in the cape

In R1 Surrey has they best form and the most scope for improvement.
Only draw is against him. Karl rode silicone valley last week who beat surrey and karl rode from a bad draw as well. He should have a good line of how good this surrey is and me think is the only horse in the race who can win, regardless of draw, UNLESS the 1st timer is a machine, which I doubt and don back joey 1st timers anyway

Pirates,I have Eternal Jet as a 96......this may be lower than some rate it but because I never did agree with the arbitrary 6 point rise I never raised the older horses.
The ups and down of the official ratings should be interesting for a while because wherever an older horse was the line horse , those runs are probably overrated now??
(Theoretically there could be a case for all 3 yr olds that ran against older horses during that period, to have their ratings reduced too??)

spot on Sheza and the 3rd horse was way back, Silicone Valley won from a 14 draw so Karl knows how to overcome that obstacle, very hard to beat imo...

Soft drizzle now. Overcast so will probably have soft rain into early afternoon.
