thanks to vee and the crew i have started taking pick 6s again i really dont see why if you cannot find the winner you should get it for nothing if you put the stablemate in....next we will want same owner cplings even if with different yards

Same as pirates , im playing the pick 6 again as it can pay similar to the lottery, unreal odds if you can click it.

Ditto
well said. Admittedly, finding winners has always been hard.
Study the form and go with the obvious. If you get rolled with the coupling, so be it .
Does not and should not happen often though.

Often you can see whether the coupling needs to be included. I must admit there are venues i wont play the pick 6 as there are too many trainers who have multiple horses in each race and this can lead to confusion even within their own yard as to which horse is best.
But the no couplings and bigger payouts has me way more interested. Also gives guys like me who bet a bit smaller than most the chance to win big for little investment.

I agree with the "to each his own " comment.This kind of debate reminds me of the Cliff Richard vs Elvis or Beatles vs Rolling Stones...............whatever turns you on!
The bigger payouts are definitely increasing pools!...Why ..........Saftote have rightly taken advantage of how value gets lost if the numbers are big,and their using of the Lotto as an example,is a very good one:
a)the chances of 6 numbers in the lotto is 13,983,816 so the value on R2.50 is R34,959,540 ????
b)5 numbers the odds are 55000/1 (R137,500/R2.50).............Saturdays payout=R14,064
c)4 numbers1000/1 (R2500/R2.50)...................Saturdays payout=R348
I can hear the cry " I would be happy with , say, R3.5M for R2.50..................so would I ,but at 10% of value, that is a NICE payout rather than a GOOD payout but It isn't stopping the people queuing for tickets (
)
The point is that catching the Pick6 is a lot more lucrative now ,but for most punters,showing a profit will be a lot more difficult........but rightly, to each their own.

Farking hell Rob lmao how can you possibly put Cliff in the same sentence as Elvis... one pretty average singer against a mega-huge-legend-sheerclass-superstar who could do pretty much anything?!???!!!!! :
Wow lol
Almost like saying the new P6 (in PE and Kimberley at least) is better without the couplings
