Its the pace of the race that worries me most. The top two masters of false pace are Stryker n Marcus period; only Hatt shows competency in reading the pace of the race everytime he raides Gauteng. The other jocks are seemingly happy to sit 2:3 lengths bhind the two most of the time and only start challenging when the two pulls a trigger. If u want to beat the two just put a good pace into the race; MDK does it most of the time if he wants to beat the two.

the fields and finding a cert in each race is mind boggling if you look past the favourite in each race. We all know that on big race days upset results are plenty so it will probably boil down to a lucky packet pick (
)
I am going to focus on likely improvers only based on breeding/age/merit rating and jockey/trainer strike rate and will brass the rest , even if it is a favourite. Then I will be simply hoping for the best result in the exotics. I think that a large perm is going to be the norm in everyone's selections. Will study the sporting post on Thursday night and post early Saturday morning...take care till then
btw. Master Sabina looks like the only one with good potential in the Cup for me so far....8/1 could be real value.

I also think Bouclette Top can't be overlooked after one poor run - beat Whistle Stop before giving him weight - also Umgiyo imo has been looking for this trip - definitely not cut and dried imo.
I believe the de Kock horse has been tipped for the marathon - I don't think that one can ignore Storm Warning
As many others, I will probably try my luck with Espumante (surely only has Do You Remember to beat)

Frodo I see you have found my best value bet of the day. Showmetheway is a gift at 25/1, I managed to get some 33/1. :
On collateral form he holds Welwitschia, Jackodore and Kingston Boy. The short break should see him fresh ad make him a massive runner. I cannot see these odds lasting long.
In the 6th I give the other Laird runner a big chance. Bezanova was given a soft ride last time out IMO. The extra 200 meters will suit him better and should be right there at the finish.

Yip, shrek; very good value about Showmthteway imo - as opposed to the two Campbell runners who are both must too short in the betting imo.
However we can't agree on everything, I don't give Besanova much of a chance - guess we will see on Thursday - if Cagiva wins easily, I might be re-considering B's chances - but for now I'm not convinced about that form:S
And Len - imo Weekend Temper clearly has potential - but why should he overturn the from with Whistle Stop and especially Willow Magic :S

Frodo I think this has been his mission and the extra 200 will suit him , at the weights no on last run but huge scope to improve IMO ...
