Agree, but the difficulty is getting to know which is going to shorten at race time. Making a P6 now. would be annoyed to see a 331 shorten race time and win...

not sure we're gonna see out the meeting, weather looks gloomy in Joburg.

Not sure i agree with you Engels, Julie Little was apparently not fancied and drifted out accordingly and the Fisher horse that won was certainly on collateral form beaten by a few... so if those were not upsets then i don't know what is...(:P)

ave noticed that all the horses that get backed about 20 mins before the race starts end up running in the place just my opinion and observation
The best horse doesn't always win the race.

Sorry Greg, slight misunderstanding me thinks. I am agreeing they are upsets to all except a few. No reason at all why winner R3 should halve in price and had six lengths to find with SS, with a completely out of form stable should not be possible. So who backed it, those that knew something and the general public know nowt and waste their money while, possibly!!, connections rub their hands with glee at pocketing your hard earned cash. The winner R2 found early support, ie possibly a couple of people knew something and got on. No-one else knew and horse drifted. I scratched my head when I saw the only horse backed on Interbet was Dolittle and the top price had been bought out. Any clanners want to claim responsibility for it and why they backed it? (Didn't you mention it though Greg??)

Aryan, until there is full transparency, unless you follow the market, you pretty much have no chance. I just can't see how any punter would have gone for Handsome Dancer to beat S Song with 6l to find and the Fisher stable against Goosen stable. There was to me just no evidence at all to indicate that was a possibility... imho

Double Bind might be the upset horse if taking to the surface.
