how could they prove that it was the same client if it was a cash bet

Is it is a cash bet then you are entitled to get payouts on the different tickets. But then there is the rule see below
Payout Limits (Tote, Exotic, SP, All On and Yankee type bets)
Payout limits apply to Win, Place, Swinger, Exacta, Trifecta, Quartet, Double, Place Accumulator, Jackpot, Pick 3, Pick 6, Soccer Special, Starting Price, All-to-Come and Yankee type bets. Payouts will be limited to the lesser of R500 000 ticket limit or R500 000/1 odds limit.
Examples:
· If Hollywood lays a Jackpot that pays R630 000 to a R1 unit and a customer (syndicate of customers or any group of people acting in conjunction with each other as may be determined by Hollywood in its sole discretion) catches it once (100%), the R500 000 ticket limit will apply – dividend paid = R500 000.
· If Hollywood lays a customer (syndicate of customers or any group of people acting in conjunction with each other as may be determined by Hollywood in its sole discretion) tickets totaling 20% of a Pick 6 that pays R700 000 to a R1 unit, the R500 000/1 odds limit will apply. Payout will be 20% of R500 000 – dividend paid = R100 000.

never have i seen such an open ended rule..it says nothing...and protects nobody...i will have a field day(excuse the pun)...shredding that rule in a court of law...if i dont get my full dividend from 2 cash tickets

Look, if it's not per person, then how does a limit work?
eg If you played R1000 jackpot and win R700,000 and limit is R500,000
then if you played 10x R100 same jackpot you the win 70K x10...whats the point of the limit then?
It must be per player.

I recently won 10% of R90.000 & got paid R9.000
So if the P6 div is R900.000 & I win 10% I will only get 10% of R500.000?:S
Fark i'll be kicking myself and cursing them Bookies:D

If a punter knows what they are doing the choice gives him a good advantage. If the pool is not a carryover pool he will be better off 99% of the time taking the bet with a bookmaker if he takes a full ticket(simple arithmetic if the pool is below 1million and there is a winner on the tote he is guaranteed to recieve more from the bookmaker than if he won it on the tote eg pool R950 000.00 and only one winner on tote and you catch it full with a bookmaker the payout will be R950 000 to the punter on the tote and R500 000 to the punter at the bookmaker but if both were at the tote payout would of been R475 000 but if the pool is bigger than a million and especially when it is carried over or a very big meeting then the punter should play on the tote if they are including lots of outsiders)
What needs to be remembered everytime the payout on the tote is less than R500 000 the punter that backed it with the bookmaker is better off as his ticket has not affected the payout eg pool of R2 500 000 with 8,25 winners the dividend is R303030 and the punter who wins it at the bookmaker will also recieve the same payout but if the extra ticket was on the tote every punter would each of recieved R270 270 each so dont be too quick to say punters shouldnt take bets with bookmakers.
ps I dont lay exotics so i am not trying to get customers

Hey RG , bookies rules are all there to be seen and transparent, so why would you want to be different ?

That what confused me about their ranting on Tuesday night. When I place a bet at Hollywood there are posters all over talking explaining about the limits. On Tuesday night they say that the only way you could see the limits is on the small print on the ticket.
Bottom line with their friend is understand what the Terms and Conditions are before you bet don't jump up and down afterwards.

Ok I get it - well then I suppose I agree with shrek that these limits should be upped - or else bookmakers will lose large exotic players to the Tote - which may not be a bad thing overall (in terms of stakes, etc)

what's the reasons the big players play exotics with bookies ?
To save the dividends being diluted?
Credit?
Service?
