Charity Day ABC next year

A suggestion for next year - Why don't we on ABC organize a tipping compo exactly like we normally do for big races but the difference is that each player nominates a charity of their choice and the winner gets to give the pool to that charity? That's the only compo I'd love to win. R200 entry( put R5 away every week in a jar and you'll have the stake)

I'm game - but maybe make it a 50/50 split between the winner and his designated charity :S

A superb idea Mr H. When we auction off feature race runners at Charity functions we go 70% to winner and 30% to the charity and it is still a good amount.
This years Algoa Cup sent R13500.00 to ECHCU for the 30%

Brilliant idea Mr. H, I will certainly support the initiative. To be honest, I would suggest donating the entire pot to the winner's Charity, considering how much one spends on the horses in a year - just a thought. But yes, please count me in.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

I agree - for one day we surely can afford to give everything to a good cause - if someone does not want to join because there is no value for themselves than that is not what charity is about -

But I'm sure you would get many more to join if it is a split pot - so you would end up with a bigger share for charity :S
