Englander, form turnaround boggles the mind.
Never less than 11 lengths behind the winner in the last 3 runs, and now wins going away.
Congrats to You Craig. Would however be interesting to hear your comments on form turnaround.

I'll try a small explanation Ob... imo, and I have said it before, Cools S is a Scottsville horse... 2-1-0 in 9 at Scots, 0-0-1 in 12 elsewhere. Does not perform particularly well (I think) on anything other than good ground. Carried 10kgs less than last time over the c/d when under conditions he likes. Last time carried this weight was 1.6l 6th from a bad draw against some useful horses. May have needed last run after 8 weeks off and that was Clairwood from not a very good draw. Just a brief overview of why I personally thought it was not without a chance and had an idiot chance imo.

Thanks for the insights Englander.
Interesting analysis.
A thought, form grids have a database with a volume of detail.
The problem is the lack of time available to analyse.
However, imagine having this data available to download onto, let's say, excel for example, and then dissecting this info, using course, weight, trainer, jockey, draw, owner etc...
A previous MD for a company that I worked for, once told me that, the more information one has, allows you to make better decisions.

Ah... maybe Ob, but if I did all that stuff then I couldn't claim to be an idiot and I quite enjoy the "unpredictability" of the way I do it and all these people who now talking about idiot/mad/lunatic etc selections! For me, it adds a bit of fun to it all (

Engels - another huge factor is the new jock. He rides the work and obviously has a good relationship with the horse. Keep an eye on him.

On the jock? Would prefer to do so if "SHE" were called Mo Dylan
Good ride though, if I remember rightly he seemed to stay balanced and calm throughout (tu) I will rely on my man with an ear to the stable to let me know if there is a horse or two with whom he has a particularly good relationship

Rowdy you weigh more than me and cannot even blame the beer! Seriously I am very happy that he ran as he did. Will improve lengths on this.

No stud for the son of Kahal out of a Northern Guest mare, will pay to follow now that he's lost the crown jewels.
