Merit Ratings -4 yr olds and older

WAW got hammered by Shea Shea !! Was WAW at his best in that race ? NO. Home turf NO. There are mitigating circumstances. WAW at his very best IMO would beat Shea Shea. Via Africa carring 58kg in a common canter ran 55.66 over 1000m. How many 3 year old fillies/colts around the world run close to this time ? VC is probably the best miler in the world at the moment and this will be proved in due course. Our horses have to put up with all this export nonsense and yet we still have world class stats overseas. Shea Shea left SA with a merit-rating of +-113 ?(not sure) and in how many runs is rated in the top 3 in the world. All our top performers overseas had their merit- ratings lifted by ?? after competing there. I can agree with you gentleman when it comes to the "general" horses but not with our top performers. They are world class and should be rated as such.

The problem is that I don't think you can use Dubai as the yardstick..........horses come out of Dubai and cannot produce those ratings in the UK.
All the ratings rise in Dubai and probably shouldn't .................maybe they also did one of those "raise them all 6 for bragging rights?"...lol
By the end of the carnival the whole lot are overrated!!

Tracks are totally different in the UK as well, cannie compare to Dubai...

Even our 2nd string will beat Dubai's pish (excluding the DWC)..
