Some big fields today and according to www.formgrids.com/subscriber/fgRaceCardG...7-13,BORROWDALE,7,ZW the Republic Cup runs for R400,000.

16h20, Race 7, The Republic Cup; #5 CHOISIR; according to Sporting Post's AR's he has a favourable weight differential, good form; don't be breaking the bank at a big price.

Following his last win in December 2011 the best a KING IS BORN could do in thirteen runs was two seconds at an average lengths behind of 7.5. In May 2013 he raids Borrowdale to win the the Tankard, run 3rd in the Challenge and win the Republic Cup picking up what must be a cool US$75,000 (+-R750,000). Well done to the horse, to Alyson Wright and her team and a good call from Tommy Hotspur on Sat.

A mean feat indeed, 1st and 2nd, though I think Chippy should have won taking collateral Easter Cup form into account, but anyway everything's right that goes right.
