Well, I had written a summary on the first eight races so far, more waffle than anything else in truth, but don't think I'll post it now, don't think it fair on clanners' eyes to couple my waffle with a load of jumping emoticoms, !! (

Think the Visser stable could have a very good day but as i find their stable such a nightmare to work out, I'll play small.
R1 Mullins Cove may improve for the greater distance but sand debut did not say enough for me to chance him, especially at the short price, and it will be a watching brief. Royal Bastide also disappointed on course debut and coming off a 17 week rest is again not for me at the prices. Familiar Chat makes his sand debut, breeding suggests a decent chance he will take to the surface, is well drawn and has the useful appie AA aboard for the somewhat erratic but "inform" Visser stable. Again price short but may be worth the risk considering the field. Of the remainder there is little to recommend them, Glorious Leader is possibly the best and most likely to run into the places should any of the three aforementioned not perform. Selection more by default than in belief... Familiar Chat x Glorious Leader x Mullins Cove
R2 Hard to see past Hawksworth who has improved a lot since beaten by Liquid Ice 2.5l over c and d. The only issue for me is the bend which, along with running green, was cited as a problem that day. Hopefully, that has been worked on and resolved. LI has something of a wide draw but should be good enough to comfortably claim the exacta spot. La Flamme seems more suited to 1000 and was beaten over 5ls by Fantasy Hostess whose previous form appears very weak. I prefer FH's stablemate, Rebel Assault, who may be another better over 1000 but could last out just long enough to claim third. Selection... Hawksworth x Liquid Ice x Rebel Assault
R3 Tempered Steel represents the Visser/Yeni combination and has a 2nd, 3rd and 4th in 4 runs over the distance on the Vaal sand. Different course but should be ok on the surface and must be a big runner (very short price though!!). Of the regular Bingo runners, Extreme Dream is likely to be the one to beat but hard to see him matching TS if the latter takes to the course. Screaminthru may run best of the rest who, on form to date, seemingly amount to very little. That leaves the only potential challenger as Defender of Peace from the Spies yard. This one ran creditably on sand debut finishing less than 6ls behind Oh So Var over 1400, the big concern though is the fitness level having had a 50 week break. Selection... Tempered Steel x Defender of Peace x Extreme Dream
R4 Competitive race with plenty of horses with good sand records. South Dakota improved last time and is now on 3rd run after the rest, only beaten 3.5l by the track record challenging Mr Vindaloo, but you would think that Muzi would be on the stable elect. Goldstream has won his last 2 visits (of 3) to the course, both at this distance, around this time last year and if Bingo brings out the best in him again then he must be a big runner. Maestrale is another with a 2/3 win record at the course, and was runner-up last time, all runs at this distance and again should be a big runner. Road's End was his conqueror that day (much improved on his run when beaten over 4ls by Maestrale two runs earlier) and this one has been there or thereabouts recently, represents Visser/Yeni combo and drops back to 1000 today. Is only 1kg worse off for beating Maestrale by 1.25l and should not be much between them again. Nippy Nathan won his maiden nicely and the runner-up has finished second and first subsequently. There are others who, if they have been prepared specifically for this race and/or simply perform to their best on the day, could surprise but my one at a bigger price will be the Shams sand debutant Here I Am, sired by Captain Al so may well take to the surface, and though comes off a 16 week break not to be discounted. Tentative selection based on being Visser'd lol... South Dakota x Goldstream x Road's End
R5 The only one I can see possibly upsetting the usual contenders is Karlo, I wonder if the owner has been told to show up on course for the race this time as well? but can't spend an eternity working out that stable so will go with my usual selection when these three run against each other over this distance... Poweroftheflower x Eye Of the World x Jack Dan
R6 Miesque's Force has been much improved and consistent recently and must come here with a decent chance. On the runs against Tarteeb, MF seems to hold stablemate Fancy Some French, though Brown takes the ride on the latter who seems anything but consistent, if producing his best then must also have a strong chance. Receiving a 6.5kgs favourable weight turnaround with MF for 2.75ls behind Tarteeb puts Soul Singer very much in with a shout on only his second course visit. Turkestan won his maiden well on his course debut and has a light weight and good draw with Muzi up but there has been no franking of that maiden form. Ivy Parade's best effort at Bingo came under this jockey behind Zuchetti and both he and Fast Forward do put in the occasional decent run. Selection... Soul Singer x Miesque's Force x FSF
R7 Woza Friday very much a watch and see for me as I think 1400 to far for this one. Giant Strides has been a little disappointing in his last two sand efforts but prior to that had 2 3rds and a 4th in his 3 course runs, is Brown's mount and he has finished 4th both times when aboard. Stable companion Beepbeep would have a chance at best but is inconsistent and seems somewhat out of form. Weather Eye coming out of the maidens ran creditably tiring late for 4th behind Trade Hall over 200 further and is not without a chance here. Tripartite came back to form when well supported last time out (strangely has won 8 times in 39 runs with no places and went 21 races without finishing in the top 3 before his last run... makes you wonder why he suddenly got supported the day he won :S ). Never won over this distance though. The Visser/Yeni combo is represented by Sunne In Splendour, weakened on sand debut when beaten 6ls by The Living Is Easy and could come on for that but assuming Sir Newton runs the same again then SIS has 3.5ls to find with that one... but it wouldn't be the first time a Visser horse has turned form around. On that run, SN, another Rugg runner, must also have a definite chance. Often slow away but seems to be running more consistently of late and has 5 top 2 finishes in 14 c and d efforts. Marius is not without chances if producing his best and it is a race where a total surprise would not be a total shock. Selection... Sir Newton x Sunne In Splendour x Weather Eye
R8 Probably stupidly I'm going to go with the Visser/Yeni combination on Memghar. Finished well in a fast time behind Mr Vindaloo over 1000 last time and if repeating is for me the likely winner in a competitive race. Muzi deserts Metro Man who has performed very consistently with a better than 50% place record on course and is 4/5 for top 3 finishes over c and d. (In protest at the emoticoms just going to do an ultra quick summary to finish!!!) Others who are entitled to be thereabouts in order of preference... King's Glory, Airani, Starfire, Sudden Surprise and El Cielo. Sand debutant Mystical Jet must also have a chance if taking to the surface. Selection... Memghar x Metro Man x King's Glory
R9 She's Got Gears (Yeni/Visser) x Double Click x Gypsy Fair
For the PA and exotics, I would work around the Visser stable, particularly Muzi's rides but who knows...
Be(s)t of luck to all (tu) and hope you have plenty of reasons to use jumping man emoticoms during the meeting!
