Egypt Air - I nearly died :S

Used this airline for the 1st time . Never again.1st they have no games on the plane so I had to talk to the person next to me and then went u thought it can't get any worse they don't serve alcohol on the placve for 9 hours. I was drinking my old spice by the time we landed.
Seriously though very poor experience no patch to the other middle eastern airlines.

Maybe it's because Egypt is in Africa that they cannot be compared to the newer Gulf style carriers like Emirates Etihad and Qatar.

Yeah, like the time my 10-year-old niece, going accompanied to Durban, was left forgotten on the plane when it had landed. Eventually when the cleaners came on board (ages later) she burst into tears and one of them kindly took her to the Arrivals where she was re-united with her frantic father. Imagine a 10-year-old little girl lost in Durban ... !!! I don't think SAA ever bothered to apologise or to take any disciplinary steps against the so-called "child-minder".

Another time my elderly mother (in a wheelchair) was likewise forgotten in the airport when due to fly to London. Luckily she has all her wits and was aware her flight was about to leave ... she was able to find someone to help her on board before the flight departed.

This "assisted travel" is one of the worst areas of SAA, im(not at all)ho.

I think it is not only those mentioned but a sign of the times.

My 88 year old Mother In Law flew to Holland this year with KLM as an assisted passenger and was abandoned at Charles De Gaulle for 5 Hrs, pushed into a corner and left.

The best carriers to take are the Middle Eastern ones. No alcohol equals no yobs equals a pleasant flight and they are never full when they fly trans Atlantic so you have plenty of room to sleep

I travelled to Angola on SAA with a broken seat(and no I did not break it) had to stand in the isle for 3 and a half hours.....they did not want to put me in business class(which had some seats available) as they feared that it would set a precedent and other passengers would start breaking seats to get upgraded.....::o
