3 JEERS for Gavin Lerena
12 years 3 weeks ago
His attempt to derail Mr Strydom in the last reminded me of my long time nemesis Messala
His actions were in poor taste and worthy of a hefty susoension.
My already low esteem of this jockey has sunk to new lows.
I will never punt a horse he is riding.

There has been shenanigans of Lerena against Striker in the past also.Being the professional he is ,Striker always keeps his composure and balance,as i mentioned on the other thread ,the most balanced rider in the world even better than Douglas Whyte, PERIOD.

Ooooh pulse
Big statement. For me there is no better placer of a horse in a race than dougie. And his achievements especially over the last 3 seasons in hk have been astounding

gavin lerena has never been the same jock, ever since he burnt himself chasing the title at the end of the season...and offcourse injuries have not helped either
his dissapointment in that final stretch of travelling and working so hard and losing it when he gave his all has dented him.///...his confidence is at an all time low...he will recover...as his ability can never be lost...but his mind is playing games with him....and by the way he conducted himself in the saddle in the finish today is testomony that his psch. is at an all time low

Up until this point no one discussed the boys talent but imo Mr Strydom outfoxed him in the race.He knew that Gavin was the threat. When Gavin closed he allowed Gavin to assume that was the last he saw of SC.So imo GL made an amateurish mistake.Further.imo Mr Strydom would have won on Dragon Fay.

I think the jock was Conrad Wilkinson. I remember Conrad should ride the grey filly Sweet Secret who won a feature race. That race could have been the Gold Vase at Clairwood.
