Jackson not in July shape
12 years 3 weeks ago
Brett Crawford said that Jackson was “behind schedule” in the yard’s bid to have him ready for this year’s Vodacom Durban July, while Dennis Drier confirmed that he would in all probability soon be scratching Beach Beauty from the big race.
Jackson is being taken care of by Drier’s yard at Summerveld.
Crawford said that the yard would play it by ear and allow Jackson to tell them when he was ready and reminded that although they were currently behind schedule horses “can turn quickly”, so a definite decision would only be made closer to the race.
Jackson, who was favourite from day one of the betting last year, is currently at 16-1 for the big race.
Beach Beauty has drifted right out from about 8-1 to 33-1 as Drier has said that she would in all probability run in the Grade 1 Garden Province on the same day.

I think that is a rather unfair comment. Brett Crawford has proven himself as a trainer. Jackson's problem,
I believe, is that he needs the unkindest cut of all, but they obviously won't geld him due to his stud value.

The reason for his loss in form has been written about on this site by one of the few posters who knows what he is talking about.
But guess and assume away to your hearts content.

Plenty horses race in Europe with their nuts in tact ! How do they do it ? In the derby and the arc geldings are not allowed to participate , sure there must be a few things that can be done to help with this issue .
