Hi,

Question: in race 4, the 2yo gets 3kg, but at the published wfa scale, and in computaform, it states she should get 8kg against the 3yo's. Now I presume the wfa scales are for handicaps, but why get 3kgs in a maiden? Or is there a different scale elsewhere that applies? What would the weights have been if there was a 4 yo in the race?

Cheers & Thanks in advance

As I understand it, the scale for maidens are different; the WFA scale is being applied in handicaps (but minimum weight I think is still 52), pinnacles, condition races, etc. Maiden 2yr olds get 3 kg's over sprints and 4 kg's over 1600 (I think) up; a 4 yr old maiden will carry the same as a 3 yr old maiden (like Far Hills in the 3rd today).
