GOLF..week commencing 16th
12 years 3 weeks ago
The PGA Tour hits Texas this Thursday for The Byron Nelson Championship.
This is no target golf course and the main challenge is negotiating the wind, which is again forecast to blow all week.
Gusts are forecasts to hit 25mph.The course is ranked inside the top ten for fairways NOT hit.
Course fom is important and I think we can make some readies on match bets and 3 ball betting.
I will post these on Wednesday.
Some players to have a look at for outrights and back and lay positions.
1.Marc Leishman, good course form and as good form in breezy conditions...25/1
2.Jimmy Walker,only a matter of time.8 top 25s this year...35/1
3.Ben Crane,2 top tens in last 4 starts...50/1
4.Jordan Spieth,I think he is going places and primed for a big week...40/1
5.J J Henry, lives local and produces he's best in the state of Texas...150/1
Louis Oosthuizen is in my top Rest Of World thinking.
Charl Schwartzel makes he's debut and looks like a player to oppose this week.
The European Tour hits Bulgaria for the match play where 24 players fight out this event.
No angle at the moment,
They also play in Madeira for a tournament lacking any real quality,I'm taking a punt on Peter Whiteford at 50/1
There is a ladies tournament in Alabama.
The Mobile Bay LPGA Classic is over one of the longest courses for the girls.
Brittany Lincicome hits the ball like a man and her long game will be handy on this track.
She is 40/1 and I'm on ew..
Any excuse to watch the ladies.

Volvo Matchplay
Ian Poulter v Thongchai Jaidee (Poulter 4/6) Best bet of the day for me.
Jeff Overton at 10-1 a fixed place.
Made last 3 cuts, 2 finishes before that of 7th and 8th. Played absolutely disastrous last year, but the 2 years before that had top 10 finishes.

I didn't choose the #puntlife, the #puntlife chose me!

Poulter against Jaidee on that track was a gift...
Ryan Palmer at 8/11 in a 1st round 3 ball with John Daly and Dickie Pride was also a gift...
£600 double on Poulter and Palmer returns £1800
I'd rather have that double then backing a nag at 2/1

Leishman 5 under
Walker and Crane 4 under.

At least they all made the cut..
Sweating on the matchbets
