Imo nothing will 'canter' home - this is a high quality field of serious sprinters - and while we all have our own 'favorite', I personally think there's value outside of VA and WaW - for all we know Genuine Leather could be the new 'superstar' :S

Remember last years race!!!

Also this race could make or break Via,i personally think the early speedsters in this race will break her heart..

I see a new course record on the cards !! Who has the best speed rating in this amazing field ?

Going to be a great race even Valberg and Royal Zulu Warrior at their best cannot be written off. (tu)

Ok I don't often tip on any forum but on this one I will ! W A W has not won at Turfontein as far as I know and has been beaten by a filly ( Val De Ra) before. As much as I think he is a really great horse and sprinter he cannot beat Via Africa on Saturday. The filly has surely improved lengths and despite the weights ( agree with Frodo ) she will come home as well as Val De Ra and beat him again? W A W is a different horse in the Cape . If Via Africa Loses then I will give up Vodka for a year! If she wins then I might need rehab?

bloodshot when WaW went to turffies for the first time as a 3yo the going was soft, the second time he was coming from a three months rest on both occasions he ran below par. This time around WaW is in top shape in fact the two horses that beat him would only see his back side. Some believe the filly improved but they ignore the improvement made by WaW in the last few months. The filly is top class sprinter but WaW is classier, stronger and most importantly faster....hearts will be broken

Still get goosebumps when I think back to the race in 2009 with Private Jet, Rebel King and Warm White Nights all heading to the line as one. One of the best races I have ever seen. (tu)

I am NOT reading this thread till after the race.

Looking at the pen reading of 19 today and no rain forecast, the track will be running fast. WAW cannot give Via Africa and Sharp Design too much start or the line will come too soon.
