Mr Hawaii well said
Horses change trainers do diffrent things some work some dont but to think that all trainers are within 10% equall .
if thats the case then i am stupid and a fool.
Why i love punting certain yards and staying away from others.
maybe my imagination.

NO he would NOT be and the reasons are as follows and 2 different scenarios as well:
A
1: The coup 1st time out would dictate the training
2: The desire then to win everything as 2 year old would probably ruin its classic career
3: The fear of horse being "moved" on would dictate it being stumped to the max early on. Small trainer really struggles to tell owner "we race it in the maiden juv then put it away for 6 months and target the champion stakes , then put it away for 6 months and win the guineas. TRUST me i know how to do this and get him there on the day in peak fitness"
B
1: to scared to push the horse in case of breaking it
2: nothing else to really extened it in work.
and before you tell me i am wrong i can tell you bout many many champion 2 year olds that in "smaller" yards have done nothing further in their careers

Has anybody gone back and tried to understand why this horse was rated 2nd for the race by computerform...if you understand that then you will realise this was not a surprise at all.

Wild One runs in the Derby Trial on Saturday and has been with Ormonde Ferraris for the past 3 weeks or so, does that make his chances of winning any better?? Anton rides and Jeff Freedman has done absolutely nothing wrong with the horses prep leading up to and qualifying him for the race and I am sure it is all an acclimatation move that will give the horse a better chance in the race..Jeff I believe has been in Jhb but he has other runners in his yard that need his attention and surely he owes it to his owners to be in Durban as well...
Give everything but up!

Probably the thing that has been most overlooked in this whole discussion.
I do my own ratings based mostly on handicap but weighted with plus and minus factors and filters .............I had the horse rated in my top 3 (tipped it to a fellow forumite on Sat morning)
A lot of the chat here is about who said what............I have no column in my ratings for "opinion" (lucky cos I would still have Potala Palace the highest rated horse on my list............lol)
Jokes aside, horses reproduce what horses have done, much more than what people say they might do.
(My problem remains that I believe that the rules should dictate that we should know whether that horse stayed in Jhb or went back to Durban and was raiding to altitude again............It does make a difference. If the horse is not resident in the stable of the registered trainer ,the temporary residency should be reflected in brackets...........I don't care how many phone calls are made to chat about its progress .........we are entitled to that info IMO............not blaming the stables, just the rules they abide by.)

I think the question on everbodys mind is
Why did Laff (experienced trainer )have no faith in the horses to stay the distance ,yet the owner did ?
Why was the public not told that the horses had stayed in JHB in JS care ? Same as BMR in CT .

GG I think your last Question is NB. The NHRA should make that a published rule that if the horse is stabled in another province then the Public should know.

I was not going to tell you, you wrong, But you are generalising. Alot of big name trainers have done the same, and not all small time trainers have done what you mentioned.

Re: Re: Lafferty struck it big?

this thread is going a bit of course comparing yards, but can anyone get the 2 year old champions for the past 10 years and see who trained them and what they did when they turned 3 and so on in their careers?
comparing the big yards who mainly get the best stock and around 100 a year to the smaller guys who are lucky to get around 30 does not make sense. How many horses from the top yards get broken down before they race?
Anton Marcus said the Love Struck would not stay so rather blame him and i agree about us being told who is training a visiting horse. Surely the tellytrack presenters in that province should also get the information for us?

I would like to know if Mr Eudey works for Gold Circle or is the trainers representative. He comes out very strongly in their defence. Mr Eudey, U have one of the world's best and most powerful owners in your stable, and you are yet to fire. Instead of always finding exuses, look within, the mirror tells no lies.
The horse would have improved no lengths, if it was withdrawn, o, n by the way, me thinks Mr Soma, is much more than an individual that knows how to saddle a horse.
Well done Alesh, u have put millions into this game, and all the best
