I agree - Most places are better than the Vaal - well maybe not Kimberley, Bloemfontein, Soekmekaar, Pofadder, etc
But why go to Krugersdorp - what happened to the 'racecourse rights' at Randjies? At least you don't have to start from scratch?

Yeah she was a very good front-runner was That Darn Cat, also beautifully bred by Royal Prerogative out of Caracel.
Was trained by the master himself Ormonde Ferraris.(tu)

I see your point but Randjes is limited - Why do they not think about the East Rand also

If there is a hint of truth in this rumour then there is salvation. That Vaal track is past it's sell buy date and the powers that be should not accept a simple swap for some mined out equally contaminated stretch of land where horses will be further subjected to mining sand dust polluted ground water etc. They should demand top dollar and look to develop in an area that is easily accessable and equine friendly.
However if the cat is out of the the bag, then the deal is already in play,and little wonder we see a forward thinking trainer relocated from the Vaal.

is there a lesson to be learnt here for the rest of the country ?should we trust the people who lease us their racecourses or should we keep the ones we own to secure racings future
