Sajhaa looks like she is the stable 2nd choice, Why has no-one spoken about The Apache, he beat a quality horse last time, was baulked and supposedly needed the run? While Igugu was not well ridden and needed the run for me she has to improve a lot to win this.

I'm wondering about The Apache as well.
Both times they've faced each other, Igugu came out on top by pretty much 2 lengths. In the July, they carried level weights. In the Met, The Apache gave Igugu 2.5 kg's. This time around, he must give her 2 kg's. If he is closer to his peak than Igugu, as it might appear based on their Dubai debuts, could he turn the tables? How much below her best was Igugu on Met day?
I get the impression that The Apache might be better over the 1800 metres than over the 2000/2200 of their previous encounters. Soumillon found the gap with The Apache last time; will he get it right again, or run into traffic problems. How much difference will Delpech make? Fascinating contest. It's only a warm-up but still a Gr1, and this doesn't even consider the other good horses in the race. Looking forward to it.

I'm just wondering if Igugu is quite right, it could be that she has not settled in as well as they would like??

Sajjhaa (7/1), .... that would be a very nice price for an eachway. As regards Igugu and Apache... in my opinion The Apache is 80% the horse Igugu is .

Clearly its not the way MDK prepares his horses for big days...before she ran last time i was wondering why it took them so long to debut her

I think those Trakus results have convinced a lot of people of Igugu's class. These guys analyse a lot of horses ... it takes something special to make them go WOW!! like they did.
I'm with Igugu, 100%, with just one niggle : that is, is de Kock aiming her for World Cup night? If so he may not push her hard to win this time out.
What I'm not sure of here though is - if Igugu fails to win this time out, will she get a berth on World Cup night? After all, there are lots of classy horses competing just for a run. Can anyone enlighten me here?

That is only a myth in the minds of some.
My opinion thought. Each man entitled to his or her opinion.

I don't know how it works officially, but looking at last years field can give some pointers.
Mutahadee ran in the Jebel Hatta last year as a 116 and finished 3rd to Master Of Hounds.
He got into the Duty Free as a 116 and finished 2nd to Cityscape.
Delegator got his rating raised to 116 after winning a 100+ handicap in Dubai as his final prep, and ran in the Duty Free.
City Style ran 2nd in the Jebel Hatta last year as a 112.
He got into the Duty Free as a 113 and finished 3rd behind Cityscape and Mutahadee.
Those were the three lowest rated horses in the Duty Free. Three others were rated 117.
Judging from that, I don't think a loss will prevent Igugu from running (she's currently a 118), unless she really doesn't perform and the connections choose not to run, or decide to go for another race. She is cross nominated, isn't she?
