BSA GRADS WELL REPRESENTED IN CAPE'S TOP RACE
23 January 2013
Next Saturday sees the running of Cape Town’s premier horse race – the R2.5 million J&B Met.
The 16 horse field contains no fewer than past right BSA graduates – in other words 50% of the Met’s final field were purchased at a BloodStock South Africa sale. The betting is also dominated by BSA buys – Jackson is favourite at 16-10, ahead of Pomodoro, who is quoted at 7-2.

Around the world stuff is bought back all the time so what do you think is the big mystery?

In fact, a biggish owner/breeder I know got into a dispute with SARS. After input from a few tax professors, SARS suggested they would accept his valuations of the horse he bred and raced if his racing entity bought his horses from his breeding entity on the open market. Maybe that's what happens with these guys. If the bidding is going well, maybe they put their hands down at some point.
