On Saterday and in the lead up to Queens Plate i heard several people involved with the organising saying it was an exclusive event as compared to the Met...could anyone explain what is meant by this?

Anyone can go to the LQP......X amount of tickets avail,some buy normal tickets ,some get more exclusive invitation.Just like any other sporting event or concert....you want to watch rugby in a private suite you get invited, you buy tickets for the stand to sit or have standing room then so be it.
I think they are trying to make it more upmarket than the Met......and well done to the organisers on achieving their goal.

I think it's the way to go as many under 30's are still hung up on VIP status and I expect a ticket to one of the hot "rooms" must be the standing XMAS plea of the young and beautiful in the Cape. If only I was 20 years younger!!;

We have a Nation of Lemmings(look at all the newbie tattoos that you see) - They follow trends so if enough of the rich young things go Racing the rest will follow.

A mate of mine went, said he enjoyed it better than Met because big crowd, not overcrowded.

Probably what Jono meant was the missing 30,000 probably include 100% of people who don't care whether it is horse racing or stock car racing.

Would tend to agree would rather be at a smaller event with racing people than the masses to watch Led Zepplin(mind you that might be a bad example) lets use Kurt Darren lol
